DLA turned down , forms filled in wrong

as for what cit-k says. i disagree.
the best evidence you can have for a DLA/AA claim is a medical history. things like bad backs/depression are very hard to prove one way or the other, but if someone continuously sees their doctor, and can keep up the pretence for long enough.......... someone determined to defraud the system will manage it. lets just hope they get caught!
You honestly can't be serious that that actually happens?
Going to a GP regularly to build up history all for the sake of claiming a Welfare Benefit?
That astounds me!
If they spent that level of time and energy into finding a job as they seem to be doing in defrauding the government......I'm speechless!!!!0 -

I understand how you must be feeling right now esp as you left it in the hands of what was suppose to be a more knowledgable person. Please dont give up it can be looked at again but you have to detail absolutely everything thoroughly even what may be a minor thing needs to be descriptive in how you struggle with it - I wish you well with your appeal/next application.
That is very similar to my wife. She made a claim via a Welfare Rights Officer, but failed to get anywhere with it - that was last year.0 -

a friend of a friend....hated her job. went to her doctors with a 'bad back' initially just to get sick notes to get off work.
she eventually realised that the route to take was DLA.
she got hrm/mrc. £100 a week in her pocket with no effort!
the claim was ion 2001, but i know she is still receiving it now.0 -

These are the people the claimants threatening suicide because of changes to DLA should be blaming. Not the Government.0 -
I left CAB for the same reason, expected to just fill in the form even if they are blatantly lieing (once had to fill in a HRM claim for someone who runs marathons - he was in the news a few years ago when he got caught).
I also know a family member who claims DLA for mobility problems, he claims to have pain in his feet following grafts from burns and goes along to get ketamine drips and all sorts but he operates a side business as a removal man!0 -
When I fill in DLA and AA claim forms for clients, I ask all the questions and I tell them what I am going to write in each box, to check that they agree. Sometimes I will read a box back to them. I apologise for the intrusive and often irrelevant questions. It takes two hours, but whether successful or not, every single one is hugely grateful for the help given, and feels I have been supportive and understanding, not glossing over anything. I always wait to the end to get them to sign.0

There is another thread on the go which is discussing that question of good and bad advisors. My wife picked a bad one!0 -
I'm so thankful I had a good adviser at CAB who filled out my form and a GP who supports me; my first claim was accepted with 3 documents of supporting evidence (one for each condition) and confirmation of my problems from my GP.
When I was turned down for ESA, my DLA decision and all the evidence that went with it had a huge baring (plus the excellent case worker provided by the CAB) on them reviewing my case and accepting I had limited capacity for work, rather than having to go through the ordeal of an appeal... I particularly liked how my case worker pointed out that my GP had written her report on the 8th and my ATOS medical had been on the 17th, and it was highly unlikey that my condition had improved that dramatically to get 0 points between those two dates and that my GP was in a better position to assess my long term prognosis :rotfl:0 -

It happens more than you think
It is a career choice and you now get 3rd generation claimants, who expect welfare rights to be able to get them on DLA and their kids on DLA - nothing wrong with them just bad parenting... Then they kick off about the kids to get free childcare and activities in the school holidays i have seen this over and over again.
Welfare Rights Officers cant perform miracles  and no matter how excellent or not they fill in the form it will fail because of the medical evidence just about everytime imho and it is nearly all tick boxes now... If a gp writes anything positive or nothing at all then it will fail, and 99% of tribunals i have attended have been because of a gps comments.Updating .................................................
