Oops - that will teach me to make assumptions - sorry! It me who should be using this smilie
Maybe I should have used 'guys' as this term seems to extend to both genders nowadays - as far as one of my daughters uses it anyway!0 -

Just to clarify, only certain companies can post on the forum and we've asked CiTB not to post again.
We did ask them to answer the question about plumbers though and here's the reply:
The simple response is that plumbers and electricians are out of scope of the Levy (and you can refer to SummitSkills with any questions about those sectors, in terms of training etc).
I'd also strongly recommend that Life rings the levy and Grant help desk -- as per my original response. They are the experts and they have all the answers. It's what they're there for.
Andrea thats not helping!
I have been told by CITB that plumbers and electricians are included in the scope of the levy (and also why does it refer to plumbers in the document i linked to previously)
This has just made me more confused0 -

Andrea,
Can I ask why this organisation has been asked not to reply? They are obviously not here to promote products or suchlike and being a charity I believe their voice should be heard.
It is obvious that many of us have issues with the tax that they administer and in an open forum we, at least, get the opportunity for some clarification of our concerns. In other sub-forums many retail companies get the chance to respond to issues or claims about them - why should this be any different? Is it the case that this organisation is aligned to the government and therefore everyone has to 'walk on eggshells'?
Also, I can't get answers by ringing them as I'm not prepared to declare myself as working in construction and, therefore, allow myself to be stung by them!
Thanks

Just to finish off the assumptions....if you had mentioned your OH then I would have assumed that you were referring to a wife. My reasoning here is that the tone of your posts are very forthright and to the point with a hint of aggression which would largely follow many discussions heard on a site. If you have never worked on a site I would certainly think that you could hold your own if you ever did! (so to speak!)
Anyway, I'm probably digging myself a bigger hole now and not explaining myself very well - so, I'll shut up!0 -

Ah but they've already got your number and sent you a bill. I want to remain as an artful dodger for as long as possible:D0 -

OH is my joiner husband.. but you are right I can certainly hold my own on a site! I project manage all our large jobs and when I go on site they all quiver in their boots
I pretty much run the business - all he does is a bit of joinery and building work - I could easily run the business without him0 -
Oh and I dont encourage any of that political correctness either! I might be in charge, but I like being wolf whistled at as well0
