Really pleased today, my OD is now under £200 because I received some expenses from work and cashback I have been waiting for ages for! Ok so its not made a great deal of change to my overall total, but feels like a milestone and when I get paid I should be £300 in credit in my personal account!

Before I made the changes to my sig the total debt was £1723.81 and now it is £1677.25 which means I have reduced it this week by £46.56 and its still 2 weeks till payday!

Also have £46 in my purse so should not need to touch the personal account!

Right........ so payday is on Friday, but at the moment i have the grand total of 21p in my purse! I have been really good and not touched my bank at all this month, bar one transaction which was to pay the dentist the grand sum of £17 for a check up.

Payday should mean that I am firmly back in the black!!! whhoooop. But then i owe my mum £125 for christmas stuff, I desperately need some skincare products which are expensive but they work so well on my skin, and I need to buy some new work trousers desperately. Oh and I am getting my hair done. That should take care of my disposable income nicely! But I will not go back in the red, no no no I wont go back there.

I will just be desperately waiting for September payday!

Waaaay overdraft is gone and now only £1480 owed to my OH for paying off the car finance for me!!! Although he said not to worry about paying him back, so really what I am doing is putting all that money in a savings account and when I have enough I am going to use it for something we both want like maybe saving for a new car or paying more money off the mortgage. Feels so good to not have the OD or anything on a CC - now just have to work at keeping out of the OD and my new 'savings goal!'

Having a really bad day today  just wanna go home and get away from work but cant really have got no reason to. Would love to just walk out of here right now - just been out for lunch and so tempted not to come back and leave it all behind me at my desk, but didn't. Got to be professional and deal with the rest of the day.

Anyway - really annoyed that I started today's post on a bad note because I wanted to start afresh really! All my personal debt has been paid, either through my hard work or the OH being really helpful and generous. However we do have a credit card that we got to pay for a few things for the house, and now have a lump of debt to get rid of there.

So - I have updated my sig and today will be the start of a new challenge! The CC had 5k on it not so long ago, and is now down to £4,600. We are both going to be chipping away at this one on a weekly basis so hopefully will go down quicker that way.

If we aim for £100 a week then that will be 46 weeks so will be cleared by w/c 6th Aug 2010.

At the moment it is on interest free and when that runs out will be transferring it over to another interest free deal so understand there will be an extra cost involved there.

    Bring on the new challenge!

    Monday morning!!!

Had a lovely weekend and feeling much better today than I was feeling last week. I caught up with some friends, my mum, and spent the whole day yesterday with my OH which was really nice because its not often we have the whole day together.

Also last night I applied for a new CC to do a balance transfer. There is an offer on; 1.5% fee for transferring a balance of over £1500 by the end of October. Found it through this site, there is a really great tool for working out which card would be the best to use for a transfer, has anyone else seen this?

So the 0% on the tesco card does not run out until Dec I think (will double check this at lunch) but I thought I would take advantage of this great deal, if I transfer £3800 to the card it will only be a £57 fee and the 0% is for 15 months so will be able to pay it all off in that time. Just hope I get accepted. If I do the card will be locked away so that we do not spend on it and just use it as a loan!

This means that I will have £800 to pay back before the 0% ends on the old card which will be £100 a week until w/c 14th Nov. Hmm easily do-able maybe I will transfer a bit less over to shave a bit more off the fee?

Anyway, feeling really positive about that, and then had a little chat with the OH and decided that after clearing this card, the next goals are overpaying on the mortgage (which we had already started to do but put on hold whilst we pay off the CC) and savings!!!!!!

Decided that if we want to start a family, we will need 5k saved up to enable me to take mat leave and live off the same sum of money that we do now. In addition to that we would need extra money for new furniture and accessories etc.... So as soon as the CC is gone we are going to put putting our money away in a safe place!

AND... payday is tomorrow for me and Weds for the OH so will hopefully be able to make a nice sized payment this week!

AND AND..... we have been making a really good effort to reduce our food bill. In previous months it has been as much as £400  but this month our aim was £50 a week. We did not quite do that but came in just shy of £250 which is a massive improvement!!! :T

So all going well and looking quite positive on the money front!

Quick update........ just rang Tesco to check the date for the 0% and it is until the 11th Jan 2012 so a bit longer than I thought. 16 weeks away means that in theory we could pay £1600 off it which means £3000 to transfer with a £45 fee. Although with xmas in the middle of that I couldn't guarantee we could stick to £100 a week so would be safer to transfer a bit more over to the new card.

Well, checked on Monday and guess what, I had been accepted for the CC already! Balance transfer was already done too, which is really good news as I have 15 months interest free to pay £3800. The remaining £800 on the tesco card will be paid off by the time the 0% runs out on that card, asap which should be in the next couple of months.

Pay day has come and gone and I am feeling quite positive this month. I have paid all the bills and budgeted for what I know I will need to spend this month. :D
