Call plan with inclusive International Calls

My mother is currently with BT but they dont offer a call plan with inclusive calls to the Channel Islands, which she calls frequently. (cant imagine why as it has an STD code which is recognizable as a UK one).
She doesn't need any Internet. The only other provider I have looked at is Talk Talk who offer £18.51 per month inclusive of all calls including International.
Is there better? Are there any pitfalls in changing?

I very much doubt you will get an unclusive call plan that covers The Channel Islands, however www.18185.co.uk which you can use with a BT Line charge them as normal UK Geographical Numbers at just 5p per call.
Talk Talk do not include them in there inclusive minutes either.0 -
The Channel Islands are not an international destination so an 'international calls included' plan would not cover them.
Open her a 18185 account and let her use the 18185 prefix to make her calls to the CI for 5p each, regardless of duration.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
When I called Talk Talk, I did ask for a package which included Channel Islands, of course the guy I spoke with could be mistaken. Sadly the 18185 is not an option as my mother suffers with Dimentia and she wouldn't be able to handle that.
However, the 18185 sounds a great option for me. Just to confirm, thats 5p per call??0 -

It's been recommended by Martin and numerous others on here for ages.
The TT person you spoke to WAS 'mistaken' (not an unusual occurrence - here's another recent example).
Could you not program the 18185 prefix into memories in her telephone for the CI numbers she calls?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Just called to check, of course you are right. The first time I specifically asked for a package to include the Channel Islands and was told that the £18.51 package would do that. Of course I was overlooking our education system, second time I was told it PROBABLY WOULD and just to be sure they could add the International Package, but I said I have to know it DEFINATELY WOULD. The girl didn't even know where the Channel Islands are? She went off for several minutes having discovered that they were not included.
Talk Talk are however much cheaper than BT at 2.7p per minute peak and 1.8p evenings.0 -

IDNet do a package that includes the Channel Islands as part of the International Package.

Thank you. If its as simple as that then Yes! I take it that you dont have to await instructions having dialled 18185?
I used to do that - my DECT phones could accommodate 24 digits in their Phone Book entries and, even with the 18185 prefix, no UK (or CI) number exceeds 16 digits.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Thanks for the tip on that one.
Regarding the 18185 service, I cant see any mention of the Channel Islands in the list of charges and I cant find any way to contact them? They dont have a Q&A which addresses Channel Islands.0 -
18185 treat CI STD codes just like all other UK 01 STD codes (I have just tried a 01534 and a 01481 number to confirm).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
