No, that is fantasy.
after the stupid valuation of their motor for part ex. insult for insult and that.
Realistic valuations are not insulting, they are........realistic. Most car buyers, however, are not....realistic. They tend to expect retail values for part exchanges. They expect to get the same for their car as the one on the forecourt.
thats call payment protection people save for a car, insurance and tax, buying a car with a min 28 day warrenty is just stupidity, and if a dealer doesnt want to put 3 months plus on one you know sommit is up with it.
How much do think a three month warranty costs for a car sold at nine hundred pounds?
Do you expect an unlimited time warranty? Should a dealer be responsible for that car after say a year, three or five years perhaps?to you a banger of 1500 is peanuts to someone on nat min wage saved for tax and insurance, is a hell of alot of cash, people dont want to buy a car then 30-40 days later having falk out on heavy repaire bills. dealers know exactly whats wrong with their cars know exactly how much its going to cost to repair, customers focus is not in a second hand/or new car dealers repertiore, maximising cash is, and limiting repairs to a vehicle is and selling with a limited timescale warrenty is.
The car is worth what it is worth, a fifteen hundred pound car is a fifteen hundred pound car, they are expensive things. That is life. Although there is no excuse for poor customer service, why should a dealer provide free care forever?
would rather listen to the car start from cold (knocking, smoking, tapping, wrattling usually disapear when warm) to me fetching a car to a buyer is not a favour its cries out i need rid asap and dont want to do a deal onsite.
I would rather get an independent inspection. It could save hundreds of pounds in the long run. You can't scream for customer service then complain when you get it.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

But probably more than We buy any car will actually pay you once you've taken it there.
I've managed to obtain a very favourable part ex price from a different dealer anyway. Probably because he very nearly offered it to me at £2500 more than it should be and realised how close he came to paying more than retail money for a French wreck :rotfl:0 -

If some dealers rip off car customers then it's only to be expected to have them rip off other things too. No surprises there.
BTW, your thread didn't go quite as expected for you, I see. :T0 -

sadly for you I have never ripped anyone off,I in fact have customers sent to me by previous buyers
It went exactly where I knew it would, but then people have posted what I know, and that is they have been unfortunate to be ripped off by the baddies BUT without giving praise for the Goodies
what they have neglected to say is that they now have a car and are happy with itI

That tends to happen when you reply to a thread
. What is pi? Where did it come from?0 -

Indeed, someone probably did get stung - I suspect it went like this:
1) A dealer bought the dud car that I had
2) Dealer tarts up the car and sells it to some unsuspecting punter at an inflated price
3) Punter realises the car is dud and goes back to complain
4) On going back dealer denies any responsibility
5) Punter posts on MSE about what a crappy experience they had buying a car,
Simples.
As an additional thought. If independent dealers are such honest chaps just trying to earn a living how come so many of them only trade for a few months before shutting up shop and re-opening under a different name? All very dodgy if you ask me.0 -
