It may be sunny but it's FREEZING!!! Need to close the windows and possibly put the heating on as sitting at my desk isn't pleasant when its this cold. Not making much progress with work, but at least something is getting done.

Not sunny here. Its snowing/sleeting. And the hound has just walked in from the garden. Covered in mud. Think living room floor has just been added to todays flying:D Pigpen can I do that instead of the oven:p

  • Back indoors again after 2 hours in the garden. Boy, is it cold out there! But the sun is lovely (sorry cat-smith!). In my 2hrs gardening I have:

    * Pruned the fig tree so it doesn't get caught in the garage door any more
    * Pruned about 1/5 of a massive blackberry bush (about 100lbs blackberries each year :o - yes we are blue in the face from eating them....) wearing thick gauntlets - but still got scratched
    * Potted on/fed a lovely kumquat tree which was starting to look a bit yellowish
    * Potted on a tray of perennial cuttings in the (unheated) greenhouse (but the sunshine made it nice and toasty)
    * Emptied some tubs of soil which were filled with weeds, and refilled with new potting compost. Now in the g/house warming up, so I can sow pak choi on Wednesday.
    * Picked up loads of sticks, after the winds, to dry for next year's kindling.

Going to stick the loaf in the oven and then jump in the shower to warm up. See you all later.

    Hello all..

Thanks FCC for the fred and lists.
Love n Cuddles all round and happy valentines.

I had a lovely weekend, got spoilt with a necklace and a charm for my pandora bracelet from my Man. Had a great time at the party and had a good ride round the area, Macclesfield is nice and has some stunning surrounding countryside. Even though it rained we had a lovely time.

Work have called this morning and asked me to go back on the thurs rather than the mon as my new manager will be on holiday. Its good actually as a nice short week is a good starter.

    OK listy..

I'm going to pop into the butchers later... never used a butchers before so any advice on what to ask for greatly recieved... he'll probably think i'm a right numpty lol!

No, he'll probably be glad to help...

Did you say you were going to do Boeuf Bourguignon? Delia Smith says braising steak, 2 inch squares, needs cooking for 2 hours.

Basically, as far as I remember, anything that needs slow cooking can be a cheaper cut of meat as long cooking times, possibly marinading and cooking in alcohol all tenderise the meat. Anything with a fast cooking time - grilling, frying - needs something more expensive and less gristly (chops, steak) because otherwise it turns into leather:D

Anyroad, i can hear the washing machine finishing - at work - so I'm off to fold one batch and hang the next. Back later.:)

  • I have seen Esther Rantzen again in the Daily M***. Yet another article on how her daughter was finally cured of ME! That woman's had more comebacks than Lazarus!

Esther Rantzen is President of AYME - one of the charities for people under 26 with ME. They do stirling work helping people but whenever I see Esther on TV or in the media she never mentions them!

    .
You have my total sympathy CY - I was a young peson with ME when Action for ME was born and I can vouch that it decimates lives. I long ago had to give up reading media coverage as it used to make me so wound up. And I despair of the number of 'cures' esther claims to have found based on a month or two's experience. Much better to say "they've found something that 'appears' to help some people". That's all someone can ever say with this condition IMO.

1/2 way through the kitchen tasks. But with the sun shining I'm off out for some fresh air.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Cycling - I can understand why you are so upset at ER. Totally justified. Rant away to your heart's content.

My hand consultant's secretary is not in today:cool:. I have left a message as I have no other way of getting in touch with him. I'm annoyed as I know he has a clinic tonight and DH is here to take me.

I've just had lunch and need to go on the roller to stretch my IT Band. I had to walk home from work and I could feel it threatening to tighten up again.

Right 5 mins on the roller then I'm going to do a HHC x 2 at 2.05 (my kitchen needs it:o)
