    Hi
Sounds like you have had a rough time of it Op. I hope your little one is feeling better & you are ok too, as it really takes it out of you when you are looking after them & can't get out etc.
I have followed both your threads & one day I made a note of all the suggestions & tucked it in my medicine cabinet just incase!.
Last night we noticed a spot on my DS (age 5) then this morning he had about 15! there was a case in his class last week so I was wary, so I pulled my note out & up we went to the chemists who confirmed it's chicken pox!.
The sales assistant & pharmacist said I looked rather organised as I told them everything I needed from my list from here! ;).
Not that its bothering my little on whos been tearing round the park (made sure there where no other children there), playing armys, football, computer & bouncing on his trampoline & still eating us through house & home! ha!:rotfl:oh & he's enjoying regulary counting how many more spots he has the grand total at the moment is 25 & increasing!. He can not understand why he can't go to school because in himself so far he feels fine (so we had to explain) still rather him be this way as I felt so sorry for you with how bad your little ones seemed to get it, his don't seem anywhere near as bad!.
Hope all is better for you now! Furny x
P.s He told his Grandma on the phone he has "CHICKENS SPOTS":rotfl:made us giggle!!!!

Thats brilliant must be a little person thing as both mine called them exactly the same thing chicken spots.

Well today litle one is soooooooo much better its unbeleivable and a relief to be honest.

It was the same for me with my oldest you could see the spots appearing by the hour.

I definatly agree with what others said when your second child gets it they get it 10 times worse, i am sure my youngest had over 2000 spots and thats not being over the top it was horrible, they came out on both for 3 days they were everywhere inside her eyelids, mouth, gums, throat, ears everywhere. she stopped eating and drinking due to them being in her throat and even stopped going to the toilet.

I really hope your little one does not suffer too bad and keeps on wanting to play its horrible seeing your little ones so ill.

And as for me i think i need a weeks sleep now lol, all the best :0)

Oh my, 2000:eek:!poor little thing, so glad she's getting better!.
I have a feeling with my son it is going to get much worse over the next couple of days & today I think is the `calm before the storm` as like you say you can literally see them appearing. :(
I am armed with Piriton, Calpol, Ibuprofen, Calamine, Eurax & Bicarb of Soda, I think they are going to my friends over the next week or so!.
At least he won't miss much school (he loves it) as it's half term next week.:)
Hope you get to catch up on some sleep OP. But I think a WEEK as a `mum`might be a tad optimistic!Lol!!! :rotfl::0) Best Wishes.

P.S Thanks for your kind words

I like to be optimistic lol

Well i really hope your son does not suffer too bad as it is horrible to see them like it although i know they have to get it, there is a real spate of it at the moment in there school and in the area.
The worst bit was she was so bad i could not even cuddle her to comfort her as she was in agony and would not let me near her, but now she is back to her normal cheeky self bouncing of the walls and being little miss chatterbox its lovely to see her back to herself, mostly all the spors have scabed now bar a few.

You seem very well stocked and ready for whatever chicken pox (spots) have to throw at you, keep me updated as to how little one gets on :0)

Yes my Son has a lot more today they have bred overnight!ha!.
The spots are now in his hair, on his legs, face, near his eyes etc compared to just on his back like yesterday. He asked me to count them all today again he wanted to know how many more he has but it wasn't possible anymore as there's too many!
He is luckily still happily playing, eating lots as normal & drinking:).
He doesn't seem to be scratching yet but seems more to be feeling them as they are appearing as he says it tingles in an area then within an hour a spot will be there.
When I popped out to the shop this afternoon (whilst hubby watched him) he told me he thought "A big pack of sweets may make them better"!Hmmmm!;)

P.s. Does anyone know could my son pass it on through a 2nd party visting the house (if they HAVE had it) to a third party who hasn't??.
    Thanks in advance.

My girls always said they had chicken pops.

Always gives me the image of rice crispies stuck all over their skin.....:D

ETA: I caught them when pregnant (and got VERY ill, ie, to the point of needing oxygen) despite not touching a single child. All I can assume is that someone had chickenpox and the fluid from the blisters was on a shopping trolley at the supermarket or bus bell push or something like that and I touched it.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Oh bless him, you do loose track of trying to count them in the end, im glad he is still playing, eating and drinking normaly hopefuly they will not affect him too much.
Thats is strange about him feeling them more than the urge to scratch a good thing though :)

" A big pack of sweets " lol atleast he knows what he wants :0)

No idea about passing them on but i just hybernated whilst my 2 had them as my friends 9mth old son had just come out of hospital with rsv so did not even want to risk me passing anything onto him from my 2 if you see what i mean, i am sure someone will be along soon to answer that question if not put a post up asking im sure you will get a responce that way.

All the best hope it stays this way for your little man and he does not get too bad x

Thanks. Well, I was asking beacuse my Step son (11) comes to visit us at the weekend (he has had chicken pox) but we know his two half sisters at his house haven't but we have decided it is not worth the risk as one of his sisters is only a baby & his mum of course understands!.
My nephew (1 month old) has only just come out of hospital too due to complications, enlarged heart when born, blood clots DVT & MRSA.
I saw him in hospital for the first time on Sunday (first time he could have visitors been in SCBU over 20 miles away since been born) & then he just came home on tuesday, my son was so excited at going to see him for the first time at home & I was looking forward to popping round as he was asleep for the whole time first time i saw him!,but it is all on the back burner now!:(.
P.s Looking back it scared the heck out of me to think I visited the baby on Sunday, luckily I left my son at home with his dad because we didn't want to overwhelm him with visitors so I went with my dad etc! We were not to know my son would come down with chicken pox by Tuesday! so luck was just on our side!x:eek:

Its confussing and we do worry about passing it on, i am glad your step sons mum understands thats the last thing you would have needed an angry mother lol.
Bless your little nephew sounds like he has had a right rough start, glad to hear he his home and hope he goes from strenght to strenght from now on.

Looking back i bet it did scare you it would have me but like you say how were you to know that your little one was going to come down with pox like you say luck was definatly on your side there.

I hope that your little one is ok as the pox must be out by now, hopefuly he has continued to be ok with it as he was last time i spoke with you. :)
