You may all remember giving me some excellent help and advice to get my 5yr old through chicken pox aprox 2 weeks ago.
Now her sister 4 yr old has got it but with a vengance bless her little heart.
she has been running a temp of 104
(one of those forehead strip thermomometers so i know they are not 100% accurate) for 2 days and is absolutly covered on her body/face and scalp 100 times worse than her sister.
They are all clumped together and nearly everyone is a big blister, i only have to go near her and she is screaming in floods of tears.
bicarb bath, piriton, caulpole, the aqu cream with calomine in but she is still so sore they are all on the insides her eyelids and all in her mouth and i assume her throat as she is telling me it hurts to swallow, thankfuly she is still taking fluids or i would be going out of my mind even more than i already am.
Is there anything else i can do to help her anyother ideas that anyone has used and has helped, just want to make her as comfortable as i can poor little mite.
many thanks :0)

Bless her, the wee soul. Soluble disprin/paracetamol were easier to take, let her have ice lollies /ice poles to soothe the mouth blisters, and I swear by savlon. The liquid you get in a bottle which is blue. Make up some in a spray bottle, very diluted with water sand spray and let it evaporate on her skin, it keep the blisters clean and is very cooling. I also put it in the bath and found it really helped the boys. Good luck, you will need a rest when its all over and done

You could also give her liquid ibuprofen for children, my doctor always recommended this alongside calpol as it also has anti inflammatory properties, might be worth asking the pharmacist about. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

I would recommend echinacea cream - probably from a health shop but possibly good chemist.
My youngest had a batch of blisters on his arm when he was about 6 or 7, doctor told me 'keep an eye' and come back in a couple of days. We had calomine but it was still very sore, so I called into a local health shop and showed the woman in there. She gave me the cream and within a couple of days the blisters had dried and were much better. Went back to the docs, and he confirmed it was shingles (which is supposed to be unusual in very young children but it isn't as unusual as they'd have you believe). The echinacea cream had stopped it in it's tracks.Bern :j0 -
Wrap some porridge oats up in a muslin tie it to the hot tap in the bath, run the bath and put DD in, I don't know what it does but it calms the itching.
Rhues Tox is a homepathic tablet helped my DD, coating her in aloe vera, calms and cools. I also got some collodial silver spray infection prevention plus cooling. DD came through with very little scarring.Proud to be dealing with my debts

I got this off a website that might help. I would suggest seeking medical help if it gets any worse though. While it is seen as a regular disease, it can be dangerous in some circumstances, so always good to get reassurance (just remember to inform the receptionist, as you will need to be put in isolation immediately on arrival)
http://www.faqs.org/health/topics/56/Chickenpox.htmlMedical help should always be sought when anyone in these high-risk groups contracts the disease. In addition, a doctor should be called immediately if anindividual with chicken pox experiences a fever which exceeds102°F (38.9°C) or takes more than four days to disappear. Chicken pox blisters thatare leaking pus or are excessively red, warm, tender, or swollen may be infected and should be examined by a doctor.
If a child with chicken pox seems nervous, confused, or unusually sleepy; complains of a stiff neck or severe headache; shows signs of poor balance or hastrouble walking; finds bright lights hard to look at; is having breathing problems or is coughing a lot; is complaining of chest pain; is vomiting repeatedly; or is having convulsions, get that child to a hospital or medical facility immediately. These may be signs of Reye's syndrome or encephalitis, two rare but potentially very dangerous conditions.

I also think a trip to the dr's may be a good idea. My adult friend caught chicken pox from my children (she had never had them as a child) and also had lots in her mouth etc, but also spread to her lungs!! She needed antibiotics to help with the symptoms.
Hope your little ones feel better soon xLooking for the sunshine after the rain

Poor little thing.
I don't have anything to add to the above advice but a friend told me recently that her gp had told her that when a child catches it from a sibling they seem to get it much worse than the first one. I've been talking to a few parents since and it does seem to hold true among my social circle!
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Please get her checked over by the doc. It can be a very serious illness in certain circumstances.
Also, if it is in her eyes and mouth, she needs looking at. It can spread to the lungs. Not wanting to scare you, just making you aware.
Hope she's better soon. XX0 -
get in touch with nhs direct she is suffering.0
