I would like to treat my mum to something special for her 60th Birthday in August - I have thought maybe of booking a short break somewhere in Europe or UK, and possibly having a spa day but other than that not sure what would be nice - does anyone have any suggestions??

If we went abroad the airports we could fly from are either Bournemouth or Bristol.

I want to make it memorable.

The title says it all! It's not until November but I'm being organised. She's very family orientated but doesn't want a party. So instead we tried to organise a weekend away with her sister and family and all of us. But we couldn't get everyone to agree where to go! Then I thought of getting a Venture type photo done of her 2 sons and their families, but SIL poo-pooed that idea. So I'm running out of ideas.

I really like the idea of the photo too. Her two sons (one of whom is my husband) don't see each other much although they used to be quite close. Between them they have 3 children, 5, 4 1/2 and 2 and I think it'll make a really nice photo. My SIL didn't like the idea as she doesn't like having her photo taken (whose birthday is it anyway?) so I have suggested that the DILs aren't in it as I still think it would look quite natural without us. Also that way if my BIL decides to ditch his selfish wife, the photo won't date! ;)
