  • I sent my data access request letter, and within the 40 day period I have recieved absolutely nothing from Alliance and Leicester, no confirmation despite chaser letters being sent recorded delivery, although they were pretty quick to cash my £10 cheque!!

I sent an e-mail to the managing director of A&L this morning saying I'd be taking court action against them if I don't get my info in the next 7 days. We will see!!

Hi When you sent your fist chaser letter how did you word it. Thanks

hello, Can any one give me any advice pleaseI started a court case with alliance leicester and a few days after recieved a cheque for 950, I was claiming 2500, so I worte back saying I accepted it as a partial payment and would carry on with the claim.A week later I recieved a letter from wragge and co saying because I had banked the cheque I had settled because it was a full and final payment, and told me to inform the courts to cancel the case, so I wrote to wragge and co telling them that I would not cancel the court case, as I didnt take it as full and final payment. Now today I recieved a letter from them saying if I dont cancel the court case they will make an application to get it struck out and seek the costs from me.Its only that when I read the letter again that came with the cheque, it did say full and final payment if i accepted it.Does anyone have any advice or have I messed up big time

If it goes to court it goes!! I have until the 19th july, thanks to mimi who helped me put these bundles together, without your help i really wouldnt have known where to have started!!

    Hi All

I'm getting together my court bundle for my case on the 11th July.
I need to locate A&L Terms & conditions for the period 2003-2006.

I have the 2005 onwards document, and I see there is a 2001-2002 document which I could use, but is anybody here aware of a particular document covering 2003-2004??

    Many thanks

    Hi there,
I only used general terms and conditions and used A&L terms for beginning of my statements 2001/2002, i think as long as you have some A&L t&C i dont think you need to add them all for all the years that you are claiming, only a couple, thats what i did anyway, but i also added A&L General Terms and Conditions,
What has the court asked of you, mine only asked for schedule of charges and statements, it was hard work getting it all together but a goog feeling when it all comes together, i posted mine yesterday, i have until tomorrow 21st,
Does anyoneknow how i find out if wragge have submitted anything to the court, do i just ring wragge!!
And would they have had the same timescale as myself!!
    Thanks,
    Nappy
  • Hi

I'd really appreciate some advice. I have now written two letters to A&L. The first time, the acknowledged my complaint... so I wrte back giving them 7 days. I have now had a letter (just in time) saying:

Thank-you for taking the time to contact us to highlight your conceres.

We are currently looking into the issue you have raised and will let you have our response as soon as possible.

A&L is committed to resolving complaints as fairly as possible and out leaflet explains the actions we will take.

In the mantime, if you feel the need to discuss this matter further please contact us on (standard cust svcs number).

So I'm not sure what to do now. Do I send them another letter by fax, do I wait for them to write again, or do I commence proceedings?

What you have received is little more than an acknowledgement. Have you formally threatened them with court proceedings?
