Is it a full HD TV or just HD ready? It might be that a HD Ready TV won't go above 1280x720 without having to downscale the image to fit the actual resolution of the TV. Full HD should do 1920x1080 resolution.
Does the TV "have" to be full hd to get 1920x1080 reolution or will a HD ready 1080p tv do instead?
ThanksNorn Iron Club Member 4560 -
To get a true 1080P image then the tv must be 1080P. Anything else means its being scaled
Another size screen (720, 768 etc) would scale a 1080P image (if it accepts the signal at all)
ie a 1080P signal would be 'downscaled' to whatever the tv is:idea:0 -

Just to add -
Some tvs (generally older ones, most modern tvs are fine) dont allow 1:1 mapping. Meaning that whats onscreen isnt exactly as it should be as theres some form of 'processing' going on before its displayed. So even some 1080P screens dont look as good as they should.
1:1 mapping on a 1080P screen is as good as it gets (for now):idea:0 -
