Hi Folks
So went a bought a new HDMI to HDMI cable, plugged it into HD5770 and 32" tv,I cant seem to get above 1280x720 without the picture looking distorted and flickering, anybody any ideas as to what may be up?
Thank You
Never come accross it myself but did a quick google for ATI screen flicker....
Seems moderately common and various people pin it to various different causes, could try:
-Checking again you're up to date with the latest ATI drivers from the ATI/AMD website
-Test unplugging other peripherials in case they are interfering
-checking what the refresh rate your PC is outputting, might be the most likely as in one case someone reported their ATI card/PC was incorrectly detecting their TV as having a 59 Hz refresh rate and setting itself to that whereas their TV only supported 60Hz. Should be under windows display properties/settings.
General unrelated point: hope you didn't spend more than £5 on the HDMI cable0 -
Is it a full HD TV or just HD ready? It might be that a HD Ready TV won't go above 1280x720 without having to downscale the image to fit the actual resolution of the TV. Full HD should do 1920x1080 resolution.0

It says on the TV HD ready, the TV is a Matsui which I think is a Currys/PC World own brand.Norn Iron Club Member 4560 -

Sending the exact number of pixels to the tv is the best quality you can get else it will be scaled (best quality as in sharpness and detail, it should still be calibrated):idea:0
