Graphics Card!

  • I have a 5770 on my Quad Core Windows 7 setup. Not a big game player but got Fallout New Vegas and it ran the graphics at the highest possible setting. Also, media playback (through HDMI to a 50" plasma) is top notch.

Unless you intend to become a hardcore gamer I'd seriously question why you'd want anything more. As has been said elsewhere, if you are running a VGA cable I'd suggest a DVI to DVI or DVI/HDMI to HDMI cable.
  • You could try getting a LCD TV. I had a full HD 22in running my PC with 1080p graphics of my HD5670 1GB.

I plug this baby into my 37in and I'm laughing.

Id be looking at calibrating your monitor rather than upgrading the card (for no reason that I can tell)

I suspect the fault is with your monitor

  • Just resorted back to using my 22" monitor far better picture quality than the 32" tv.

Many thanks for all the help

Assuming your TV works normally there is clearly something wrong in your set up. You are getting a poor image at 32" with marginal improvement at 22".

You are not getting anywhere near the benefit you should from a 100 quid gfx card.

HDMI is supposed to be fairly idiot proof, should be just a case of plugging the HDMI cable in from card to TV, setting the resolution to full HD 1920×1080 and getting nothing less than an unflikering crystal clear picture.
