I'm not terribly confident although my oh has helped alot.....
If I'm going out with the girls or with another couple I really fret over what I'm going to wear & if I look ok etc etc. I really hate it, can get thru a few outfits!!
Also feel like I don't have a specific "best friend" IYKWIM....even got married late last year & don't even feel close to my bridesmaids anymore, in fact can prob count on one hand the times I've seen my BM's since the wedding......doesn't help confidence & sometimes feel alone from a girl point of view - my oh is a star though

I used to spend a lot of time worrying, what people thought, etc. Goodness knows, I've had reason to cringe a few times. I've now come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter. You're only on this planet once. You live, and then die, so might as well make the most of it while here. Why spend your whole life worrying.0

I too am not at all confident but have done a good job over the years of perfecting the art of smiling and chatting to people. I am never very sure what to say to people so tend to be a bit jokey to cover it up. Sometimes I just can't wait until I can get back home and be me!0

I only care about the opinions of the people who matter to me. Getting to that stage in life was an epiphany to me.
Op, the poster who mentioned that if people weren't interested in you, they wouldn't be inviting you has it spot on.DTD...Dreading The Detox.0 -
Me too. I do worry about what people think but don't say.
I think many people are like it. My boyfriend isn't like it at all and isn't concerned with what others think if it isn't someone he likes too. I wish I was more that way inclined!
My best advice is to find someone less concerned and learn from them (your boyfriend seems this way inclined). I've become much less concerned about what people think, as whatever they think it won't affect me. I used to struggle with eye contact in shops when I was in my early teens and was very shy with strangers, which is odd as I've always been told I talk too much by those close to me, lol.0 -
Oh yes, I think everyone goes through this, to a greater or lesser extent.
I still get anxious about it from time to time, but I find that since I have been in my thirties I feel much more comfortable in my own skin.Barclaycard 0% - [STRIKE]£1688.37 [/STRIKE] Paid off 10.06.120 -
I used to worry about what people thought of me but then I though well if they don't like me who cares their problem their loss not mine I've got good friends and family who love and care for me so stuff the rest. You can waste your life away worrying what people think my advice is dont:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

I think all people worry about what people think of them. If there happens to be bad rumors being spread around about you it really destroys your credibility especially when you are trying to meet new people.0

I couldn't give a monkeys funky, people accept me as i am or they don't - I'm long past the point of being concerned about how others perceive me.
If someone doesn't like me i'll move on, lifes too short.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
