Nokia used to be the king, however they have produced some truly truly dreadful handsets recently and I'm surprised that they have not gone under! N97 yuck, N97 mini, double yuck, 5800 OMG yuck and the list goes on... IMHO the last good phone was the N95 8GB (expect flaming...).

Apple came in with a clean, uncluttered interface and literally wiped the floor with Nokia, Google have come along and done the same. Win 7 Mobile is another clean, easy to use interface and I think that it will go a long way to help them and Nokia regain some lost ground.

Consumers now hold the reigns, not the developers, and a 'quirky' user interface now will just not now cut it. Another example of this is how Apple and Android phones no longer need instruction manuals, the interface is clean enough that we can work it out, the same is true with Win 7 Mobile.

I hope that this encourages competition and makes the end user more happy. Interestingly enough did anyone see that the CEO of Nokia USA has now been replaced by another ex Microsoft employee?? Am I being cynical in my thoughts that Microsoft will take over Nokia?

The N95 was the phone that finally turned me away from Nokia.

I was so pleased when I got shot of it.

Nokia offering/accepting to have WP7 on their handsets is certainly a fall for Nokia.
As far as Microsoft is concerned, Nokia is just another manufacturer to have their software on Nokia's hardware.
What a disgrace. As I already indicated, there is a real hard work ahead of nokia to find a good hardware that can compete with HTC, Samsung and LG's for WP7 phones. If Nokia fail to release their first model that can not compete with HTC, Samsung or LG that will be the last nail in NOkia's coffin.

6310i.... Ah the memories.... I work for a recycling company and we took in 3 pallets of old mobiles from a customer, there were E50'sby the bucketload but at the bottom of 1 pallet I found a load of 6310 + 6210's I was like a little kid again! I found one of the 6210's had the bluetooth battery on (remember them....).
