Why do people waste time with the groupon restaurant deals? You are better of getting a tastecard. There is a better choice and only have to book an hour before you want to eat but I never do just phone 10 min before.
The rest of the deals are just as bad here is just one example

Could you please let us know which company? I purchased vouchers for face masks from O Spa, who apparently are in liquidation.
Me too with the face masks.
I purchased the offer on impulse - redeeming was a little complicated - paid P&P direct to OSpa. I belatedly read some poor reviews and emailed Groupon who offered to refund.
I decided to be patient - checked the order was in OSpa's system and waited - and waited - and waited.
I received one upate email from OSpa - and continued to wait.
Two weeks ago I emailed for a further update and received a "Refer to our Terms & Conditions" (?) auto-response from OSpa.
Last Friday I decided that enough was enough** and emailed Groupon for help and a refund. So far, nothing beyond an auto-reply. Getting cheesed off now.
*Best plan is to ask for a refund for the collagen masks anyway, as - on further research I discover that collagen molecules are too big to pass into or through the skin so a waste of money on all counts.0 -
Hi,
I'm totally fedup with Groupon.
I bought a voucher for DNA Food Intolerance and Allergy Testing from them for knowyourbody.tv on 26/08/2011.
I have received an email voucher but no testing kit.
I have tried to ring both Groupon (in telephone queue for over 1 hour and the freefone changed to 0844) and Knowyourbody.tv (mobile which states number no longer in use).
I will try the 08443445719 number for Groupon again but if I don't get a response I am calling my credit card company to complain about Groupon.
Regards

You tend to get a better quality of restaurant and more money off if you use a groupon deal as opposed to a taste card. I use both and find Groupon deals alot better than tastecards one. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Ahh - my first ever blog post! I have had some good deals with Groupon but I agree that you do have to check out the deals. One recently advertised an item as retailing for £40 but Groupon offer was about £15!! Wow I had to have it I thought, but decided to 'google' the prices online. Sooo I bought the item from another retailer for £5!!!0

Also what a disaster I am having with Groupon atm, 6 weeks on and am still waiting for my 'Silent Night Pillows'! Wasted loads of time, effort and money on phone calls and still not getting a decent answer.0

Wasn't impressed with the two I've bought - the first for paninis and hot drinks - when I got there (at lunchtime!) they had no paninis left - but said I could have a piece of cake instead! The second was for a Full English breakfast. These were brought to us, but the people on the next table were also having a Full English (obviously not Groupon customers) and had much more variety on their plates! I wondered why you had to give your vouchers in before you ordered. Not as good as they make out....0

I can honestly say I've never had poor customer service from Groupon...... in fact I've never had any sort of customer service at all from them..
I bought a voucher amost 4 weeks ago for a Samba Robot Vacuum (£179) and after doing a little research decided it wasn't for me, so requested a refund on the unused voucher (did this on 2nd day, so legally entitled to a refund). Had one automated reply telling me to be patient as 'it may take a week to get back' and basically they have been ignoring me ever since. 8 or 9 emails, all ignored, tried phoning, but their phone lines were switched off...
Even tried the 'special' email for MSE users (twice).
On Monday the 30 days will be up, so I will be able to pursue a chargeback (Visa Debit)... we'll see how that goes.
I think the whole thing is a bit of a joke. As this was my first ever Groupon experience you would think they would be falling over themselves to help.... I mean, if this experience is all I have to go on I'm hardly going to be rushing back and recommending my friends, am I....
Or maybe (for all the conspiracy theorists out there) Groupon doesn't exist (well, their customer service certainly doesn't) and they are actually a secret alien organisation working from an underground base on Mars..... :mad:0 -

Well, surprise, surprise.... 2 days before I was able to pursue a chargeback I get an email from Groupon 'apologising' and confirming my refund. I guess this is their ploy if you cancel a voucher, hang on to the punters money for as long as possible to accrue more interest !! Just a shame they are alienating so many potential customers in the process....
The 'apology' said they had only just 'reached' my email, but as it was a reply to my fifth email I think it was a bit of a giveaway !!
I guess the lesson is, make sure the item is what you want / need before buying, and make sure it is a voucher you will be able to redeem without too much trouble. Also don't spend any more than you can afford to lose, as I have a nasty feeling that when the novelty wears off Groupon will disappear faster than the Titanic !!
Have fun out there, but be warned !!0 -
I have bought Food Allergy Test on 04/07/2011 for £70 through groupon and they said with 28 days you will get your results back. and now been over 3 months nothing. I have called them no one answer the phone. I have written letters no one replies. Their address is just post box so you don't know where they based and who run the company. I have done company search nothing with this name comes up. Be aware this company will take your money and you will never get anything back.
Really sad to see such companies trade in the UK. the worst of the worst customer service ( there is no customer service no pick the phone or reply to the letters).0
