    Things we noticed

    Phillip is a dcik

    No Garden

If Phillip was made of chocolate he would eat himself

Simon is also a dcik and the chances are in 20 years Phillip will be like Simon

Still got this to watch this morning - but my little brother had that hairdo for a while (and boy did I cringe in embarassment having to be seen out in public with him)! My mother almost killed him when he sported it for his school photos.

Just shows you are better off showing round buyers yourself as no one knows the property and its plus points better than the owners.

How many 'plus points' does your home have that you couldn't list or explain to any agent selling it?

...and could someone introduce the younger staff at MG to the product ranges of Gillete and Wilkinson Sword....?

Ill-shaven look along with 'through a hedge backwards' hair just doesn't cut it.

I generally find there's a direct correlation between quantity of hair gel and how much of a prat a salesman is.

    This morning's search brought up a quote or two from the agency... the programme suggests that all the agents got was one hour's training in the early stages;

"Simon Gerrard, managing director of London agents Martyn Gerrard, which featured in the programme, said that 98% of what he had said was not used.

He said that key points were ignored, including the fact that 70% of staff at his eight offices were either NAEA or ARLA qualified, and the remaining 30% in training."

I didn't see the point of saying they had no training about viewings.

People who show buyers round don't...

Gelboy needs a serious hair cut though.

One of the points MP was stressing was that on average EAs are paid £X for a house sale, and she couldn't see what they were doing for their money; however, every secret filming of a viewing showed the viewer being personally driven to the property (and, I assume, back to the office)......

That's got to mount up in the expenses column of the accounts ....

That must be a london thing though. No EA round here has ever offered me a lift. One even let me walk the 500 yards to the next property whilst he drove.

Up my way, owners are typically left to their own devices to show their homes to buyers - traditional open viewing times being 7-9pm Thursdays, and 2-4pm Sundays.

Anyone can turn up and be shown round by someone who has no training in viewings, or any aspect of Estate Agency, for that matter.....
