is it ok to send it 2nd class with the post office as long as its signed for and i keep the receipt as proof

No.
First and second class are only insured to £41. Recorded delivery is first or second class with signaturel. However it RARELY tracks sufficiently to win a dispute.
Your cheapest option is a courier.0 -
does any one know of a good courier i bought something of ebay recently and the person used myhermes but i have read the reviews and some are quite bad

I use p4d. They are not the cheapest but in my experience, cheapest is not best with couriers.
Do not opt for a service which won't cover you, as you have to have tracking and adequate insurance. Tracking will cover you for the claim in eBay/paypal, and insurance will cover the item going missing/being damaged.0 -
i returned my curtains and tracked it i asked the seller yesterday if he had received the curtains as yet but no reply i went on ebay yesterday and he has received them has they have been relisted with the correct size now
do i wait another day for him to reply as really he should of refunded me on receipt of the item

is it possible for a buyer to be made to pay the return postage when they have advertised a item with the wrong size and i have returned them at a cost higher as they had to be tracked i think its unfair when the seller lists them wrong and even he agrees he listed them wrong so why should the buyer be out of pocket
