HMV - What are they like for deliveries/pre-orders

I too have had poor service when preordering (there's a thread about it in the vent forum somewhere...) I wouldn't bother with them again.

I've ordered quite a bit from them - most recently a pre-order Jimmy Carr dvd which came extremely quickly. On Friday last week I ordered a Cliff DVD, Deal or No Deal dvd and Now 65. Cliff and No Deal were despatched together on Saturday and Deal or No Deal came Tuesday but no sign of Cliff (wonder why? - its for my Aunt honest). Now 65 also despatched earlier this week but still in transit.

Everything will then been fine.
Something I ordered in the July of this year is still on a back order.I do get
updated emails from them on a six weekly basis I think.Here's one of them

My XBOX 360 game pre-order arrived fine last week, considering HMV do free delivery they sent it Special Delivery!

Wish I'd had the same experience as most of you folks, I ordered Lego star wars on DS 4 weeks ago and it arrived on Tuesday(even though it says 24 hours dispatch online!) but it when it arrived it was lego star wars on playstation 2 with a DS sticker on it! So I emailed but as yet no reply, I'm so furious about this!!! Won't be shopping with them again!

I ordered a CD last month, said dispatched. Never arrived and they told me I had to wait 14 days. Contacted them again and they refunded then resold me the item for a new delivery, and guess what? The CD says dispatched and has STILL not arrived the second time around! I was buying this well in advance for Xmas, now wondering if I will see it before then!
