They could be the next Iran still. I know someone working in Egypt in a coast holiday resort and they have been fine, its a very variable situation but CEY is miles away from direct troubles most likely

CEY confirmed production of 150,000 ounces of gold recently which was reduced from previous estimates a bit. They still have alot of room for growth.
In general gold has not done well recently, Ive been told this will continue most likely.
Personally I see currency as the weak point especially dollars so Im not too worried in the end.

I had hoped POG might do better, they produce iron ore but mostly gold and reported decent production I think

CEY Market cap is 1.1bn with about a 240k annual rate of production
POG market cap is 2bn with 500k actually produced in 2010

If CEY carries on just the same in 2011, it will realise 212 million dollars after extraction costs so thats a PE of 5.3 ? They actually say they will produce more then that

Otherwise most beat up /bargain stock I watch is 3]0]E0WWE$$ALL&Id=0P00007OEC&LanguageId=en-GB&CurrencyId=GBP&ClientFund=0&lastPageURL=&IndexOverrideId=&IndexOverrideInvestmentType=&IndexOverrideLocalCategoryBaseCurrency=&story=128692252580682"]HDY I think, not been very successful

iii puts up alot of share and small company discussion - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIv6owh-YF4
• I'm keeping an eye on CEY. If things start to get back to normal in Egypt I can see a massive shoot north. There has already been a bit of recovering, but how permanent that is depends on what the army do next (they've said that they will step down to a democratically elected government); their next few actions will be hawkishly watched and judged.

I'm interested to hear what everyone else thinks about this. It's an interesting financial and political situation.

CEY: AT
Price is trapped between support (132) and resistance (150).
A weekly close above 150 would have been better.
At moment, again downtrend.

BEM - a mining explorer with a lot of resources in their portfolio. A very good long term share and in a politically stable country (Sweden).

For AIM shares

I'm in all of the linked RRR companies - RGM/AM3/ORCP

Also in HER/AGQ/BEM/ANGM for commodities
• VOG are a good buy at the moment - easy 50% shortly when they get their licence. This company has lots of gas and customers signed up as soon at the cameroon goverment give them a licence.

RRL are ISA able and you will double your money if not more in 3 months.

MATD are looking good too for a 30% rise between now and April. Mongolia is in deep winter but they have nearly struck a lot of oil.
• I'm in RRR, BIP, ANGM, RMM, OTC (ouch).

Good call on ANGM a few posts back! BEM is also pretty awesome but I sold out a while ago and am reluctant to buy back in after the current rise.

I recognise that problem. Its hard to keep up with possible fair value of these enterprises.

With RRL I've tripled my money and it does seem weird. Im still holding because my shares are now made of already realised profit.
If they go bust Im still ok so generally my attitude is see things out because in theory they are no where close to full value if all goes right

Its not the most profitable thing to hold, these tiny shares tend to sell off shares to fund their drilling operation etc
Basically they are diluting my holding, its a bit unfair but at some point I lose track of where to sell and buy and many times now I've sold only to see a share double or more

Did anyone buy into SAR ? From 0.25 to 7p in 3 days on basis of trial results which saw some leukaemia reduced to zero. Its now 1.5
