  • How about a voucher for tea for two at the Ritz? It would take up most of your budget, but you could combine it with a trip to the cheap tickets booth and hopsefully see a show at the same time?

Sounds silly but hubby bought me a really fantastic leather bound notebook last christmas- it lives in my handbag and I use it loads, and it reminds me of what a thoughtful gift it was and therefore how much I love him every time I use it.

One year I only had one present from husband to be, but it was a Burberry handbag...even though I have to say I wouldn't have chosen Burberry specifically myself, it was certainly a very, very, special present. You know if a handbag cost an arm and a leg (or several) if it comes in it's own box and inside that it's wrapped in it's own cloth bag. If your lady love likes handbags, buy her one that she'd never ever justify to herself to purchase. It gives me a lift just to get it out on occasion for best, simply to know that I possess it in it's wondeful senseless extravagance is soooo nice.

A girl can never have enough smart and stylish handbags. Well this one anyway...

    PS

If she really appreciates jewellery, don't buy her a cheap piece as part of an Xmas pressie. A bargain piece is OK. She knows and can see the difference between nicely made and good gems, and cheap stuff.Well, she does if she's me...and your good stuff just makes the cheap stuff look worse.
  • I've pointed my hubby towards this post... he's rather stuck for ideas.

I can defintely recommend Lush, in particular a wonderful little product called Ceridwan's Cauldron... will make your wife's skin wonderfully soft
  • A 10 or 14k gold Cross pen and a small Steiff bear.
Think of happiness as a kind of mental gardening.
  • I am so jealous! My OH is lovely but really, truly !!!!!! at thinking of anything original present-wise and if I don't give him a list to pick from, I'd get nothing!

R&P idea is fab and I think the charm bracelet idea is great too - that way you don't have to go through this pallava every year always trying to better yourself! Also, theres the buying her a star option?
  • By the way as everyone is being so kind to chuck their ideas in, if I can help anyones ideas let me know.

I've made two purchases so far and am up to £60, am likely to go over by a bit (I don't include ribbon and paper and cards in the £100).

I would share them but just in case she browses the forum I don't want to risk it.

  • When we were 1st together I made my now Hubby an A5 photo album with a pic on each page with a comment, a really personal present, especially if you have access to old photos from when your wife was a kid. Hubby said it was the nicest present anyone had ever given him, and we'd only been together 2 months.

Also on the retro sweets theme on another occasion I also made him a jar of sweets with a sweet for everyday we had been together.

Good luck on your present picking.
