Evening chums Just got back from dinner at my DDs with the tribe .A late birthday one as I had Uni on Monday night and the boys have been giving my DD gyp ever since that Granny didn't come to dinner on her birthday.(even though I go there every Sunday)
We had a delicious HM chiken tikka curry and rice .
Been an odd sort of day today .I did a bit of shoping (not a lot )took DGD to college, took DD and third eldest DGS to the dentists. Then we walked the dogs ,then walked up to pick to boys up from school. My birthday pedometer is clocking up the steps .DD has lost 12lb since beginning of Jan and I have lost 8 lbs in three weeks so we are sticking to our healthy eating plan.I am going along with her to keep her company and give her encouragement.
She has upped her walking and it doing around 13k steps a day:eek:
Still its good for her and me I guess. She is determined to lose her excess built up through having 5 children in 10 years and plus a good deal of comfort eating when we lost her Dad
I have just emailed my niece as its two years since her OH took his life, so today's not a good day for her.I sent her a big bunch of flowers as I know she loves them but can't afford to buy any herself bless her she has done extremely well considering .her two little girls were only 6 & 8 at the time.
Tomorrow I am off to Maidstone for the day with DD and treating her to some new nails for her new job which she starts next week.
Plus I want to get DGS Jack his birthday present as he is 11 on 21st Feb.
One of my presents was a new mobile phone which I am hoping I can get sorted out tomorrow at the shop there I can send and recieve calls but only receive texts so thats another job to get fixed .
This Friday DD and her OH are off to London for an overnight trip to see Phantom of the Opera plus a nice meal and hotel. Her OH bought it for her for her birthday in December.I sahll be granchildren sitting on Friday night so that will be fun as the boys and I have a lovely time and I can spoil them a little;)
My eldest has got two tickets for us to see it in April as part of my birthday presents so I'm hoping it will be good.
Well thats about all of my day.
reading through I saw you talking about the Glaswegian accent ,well my late Mum came from Albert Avenue in Langside nr Queens Park and she had a very soft accent and extremely precise way of speaking I don't know what its like there now, but when she was born in 1900 it was quite a 'naice' area. She sounded like 'Miss Jean Brodie ' when she spoke
not a bit like her 'eastend cockerney' DD I'm afraid:rotfl:My dad spoke a bit like John Laurie from Dads Army as he came from the north east of Scotland in Angus RRRRoled his RRRs quite a bit:rotfl:
Cheers chums and
'lang may your lum reek wie ither folks cole':rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Late one here - out all day at a trade fair and shattered with aching legs and feet.
Managed the WM and TD and leftovers for dinner so a little OS! Had a few glasses of wine too (not very good for the weightloss!!).
Just working half a day tomorrow and got to whizz and have my hair cut first thing!
Night all
