When I feel low (which is a lot!) I write a list of everything that is getting me down. It makes me feel so much better and helps me to start working on my problems. So my list would say something like no money - ebay, cutting down spending, looking for freebies, growing veg etc. At the moment I am walking my dog and find that there are lots of people to say hello to, and I have made some proper friends through this.August wins: BBQ, Solar Garden Lights, Seeds0

There appears to be a better OS way to do everything I can think of, so what about an OS way to cheer up?
I'm not depressed, I'm not unhappy about anything major, I'm just fed up and down in the dumps. I've just had a tiff with my boyfriend again, it'll probably be alright in a week or so when he accepts I am totally right and he needs to appologise (this has happened before)!
Stuffing myself with chocolate is out, it's against the rules of my OS-friendly diet. Moaning to my best mate is out, she's not available. Can't go out anywhere exciting because I've got no childcare. Definately can't spend money, I'm on an NSD (no spend day- see debt free wannabe board).
What's good for an OS cheering up then? What works for you? All ideas welcome, even unusual ones... Come to think of it, especially the unusual ones (sometimes those are the best).I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

Put your favourite CD on and dance around your room like a silly person
helps if you sing along really loudly too. And do ridiculous dance moves.
Hope you feel better soon

Lots of options.

Clear something thats been bothering you...e.g. (says lir looking over her shoulder at the desk) your in tray or th laundary basket.
Clean a room with radio on.
Ironing with scented water....has to be nice smelling, its aromatherapy you see...not ironing.
Have a scented bath, leave conditioner on, or a face mask, then put on favourtie non man catching pjs and eat a healthy meal ...miso is a propular one, or a slightly naughtily dressed salad, or un buttered popcorn and watch girly tv/film. Paint your nails or do your legs or dye eyelashes...which ever is a the appropriate ''my body is a temple'' beautifying ritual.
Kiss your kids good night and count your blessings.

for me, its to dig out a favourite funny book and laugh myself silly! James Herriot's Vet books spring to mind, so is that guy I keep mixing up his name with the actor *Something* Bryden! and Jennifer Crusie is really funny too!
and if you can find them on Sky or freeview/sat - some golden oldie comedies! Rising Damp, Dads Army, To the Manor born to name a few! I always feel so much better after watching them!
but my sis prefers real weepies! says it makes her count her blessings - doesnt work for me, but perhaps you like to break out the box of tissues - or hankies if you are REALLY OS!0 -

Hi Hannah,
A good natter on the phone with my sister or a good friend usually cheers me up if I'm feeling a bit low (after 6pm when the calls are free of course
). There are lots more good ideas on this recent thread that might help:
Cheer me up cheaply please!
I'll add your thread to that one shortly to keep the suggestions together. I hope you feel better soon.

Videos of cats. I believe it was why the internet was invented. If that doesn't work your problem is serious and you may need to try piglets wearing boots.

Sometimes I find it inspiring and mood-lifting just coming on here and reading how other MSE people manage to make the most of what they have, or achieve triumphs over disasters. And there are always plenty of people willing to "listen" if you want to have a major rant about something! One life - your life - live it!0

I second this. My favourite music can lift my spirits the way nothing else can. Go to Youtube, find your fave videos and dance away
