  • hi all. back again, thanks for the advice but the problem still persists, even after following all your advice so far! any more ideas would be more than welcome.
  • Iposted earlier in another thread, I've got the same problem, if you click on "send" it takes you to what seems to be a fake Microsoft update site which suggests you update the "hidden" updates.
One of my virus scans turned up a Phishing virus but won't do anything about it.
I've just tried a different anti virus and that didn't turn anything up!
The error thing is coming up on mine evry few seconds

    Hope someone has an answer!!

Have you ever updated your PC? is it XP? have you service Pack two?

Try here to find any updates and just choose express https://www.windowsupdate.com
  • It's a fairly new computer with Xp and service pack 2.

It is set to download updates automatically
I tried going direct to microsoft site but couldn't do anything for these error messages every 2 seconds.
Eventually left the computer all night and all day.
Just got home now and it's fine!!
  • hi happy bunny, its good to know i am not alone in my frustration. however i think my problem is different. this only happens in one user account, that of a seven year old who only ever goes to the ceebeebies website. to answer your question spacker my pc is fully updated using xp with sp2 i have followed the link for spy/malware removal up until it gets to the advanced bit(cos not at all advanced but get by!) the problem still occurs withthe same message as posted earlier.
