Just received a bill from talktalk.
Nothing surprising about that, except I left them in October 2010 owing nothing.
They're blaming data migration (as a rolling excuse it would seem). complaints made to the usual places.

Ofcom quote from 2010 coming up
Ofcom has today instructed TalkTalk and Tiscali UK to stop breaching telecoms rules or they could face further enforcement action, including a possible financial penalty.
After receiving over 1,000 complaints this year alone, Ofcom found that TalkTalk and Tiscali UK have breached telecoms regulations by issuing bills to consumers for services that have not been provided.
Both companies issued bills for services consumers had cancelled.
Ofcom has issued TalkTalk and Tiscali UK – which are both part of TalkTalk Group – with a legally-binding Notification requiring them to comply with the rules, known as a ‘General Condition’, by 2 December 2010 or face further enforcement action.
The maximum penalty is a fine of 10 per cent of relevant turnover

Couldn't agree more. I had a long running complaint with TT which no-one could be bothered to deal with so I went straight to the CEO, her right-hand man rang me & seemingly sorted the problem out within a few days & he said he would make sure I was charged the correct amount.
Bill received today for....the wrong amount
I have my mac code so now have to decide between staying with TT, or go to BT or O2.
Any recommendations?0 -
02 every time, as long as it's LLU and not Access.
TT to BT=frying pan to fire...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
02,In my experiance,BT are getting just as bad as Talk Talk!At least O2 have their call centers in the UK,you can contact them free on your mobile or by the 0800 number.
Been with O2 for around 14 months now &,apart from billing issues last June when I changed mobile number & their systems change,no problems since. The bband went faulty only once, they sent me a new router & it was all fixed within 36 hrs. (it was, sods law,at the weekend it went faulty!)0 -

CEO team are looking into this already.
Any bank withdraws are covered under the direct debit guarantee (although you should have already closed that DD down) and/or changed your credit card before you left to a dummy one.
I basically don't know if talktalks balls up will go as far as trying to get this money, but if it does I can see a whole heap of trouble heading there way when OFCOM gets involved.0 -
i closed the dd in october but they re opend it to take money i didnt owe, my bank refunded me and claimed it back from tt...im worried they will do this again0
