Hi guys,
Im looking for dresses with straps....my budget is £500 so not exactly the best starting point!
Its not that i NEED straps....and i havent even tried any wedding dresses on yet, but i just thought they looked nice! nearly all dresses are strapless, and i just wanted to be a little different i suppose...i just like the look of the dresses with straps
firstly where do i start looking with a budget like mine?
is anyone else going for straps or seen any?
i know the Maggie sottero (Hampton) has straps...but as I havent been dress shopping i have no idea of prices...im guessing way out of budget though LOL

also found many strapped dresses on ebay....though im VERY wary of buying from China...what if it doesnt fit, what if its not what you expected, material no good? anyone bought one before?!?!
heres a few:

this was also on ebay...love the silver colour

sorry for all the questions but im really interested to see what people think....PLEASE feel free to post your wedding dress pictures and ideas, i love looking at pics
thanks everyone!!

There are 2 Maggie Hampton dresses both used on ebay at the moment....looks like the dress retails at around £1300 but both are open to offers...they have staring prices of 750-775 but who knows the sellers may be open to a lower offer....
ones a size 10 and the other a 12...it looks as if the straps are detachable and from the pics neither bride wore them on the day...so if you were interested you would need to see if they still have them.
personally I would look at an original rather than a china copy...some people get good service but there are so many who post on here that dont...if your budget will not allow you to get a new maggie I would go for the preloved dress over any copy from China.....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Hiya, I'm having a dress with straps too! Much prefer them to strapless! My dress is an Alfred Angelo 2032 - sorry don't know how to post pics!0

this the one bride2be?

lovely!

thanks for the advice!! yeah i thought the ones from china might be really badly made, or bad material etc....and even though they are much cheaper....your pretty much stuck with it as you cant send them back!!
theres quite nice one right at the top of my price range from BHS, but its just a shame how the beading at the top tapers off across the boobs....i hate dresses that look like it chops the boobs in half! i havent got the hugest boobs...36c/d but i do sometime have trouble finding tops where the 'boob' part doesnt get chopped in half!!

I guess Linda can comment but if you found a dress in your budget that was strapless (and there's probably loads more of them around) could a dressmaker put straps on for you?0

I set out looking for a dress with straps and was told that most dresses can have the sheer straps shown in your first two pictures put on with little hassle.
BUT...
When I tried them on I actually looked much better in the strapless ones. I have rugby player shoulders so was amazed and would have never gone for a strapless dress straight off. So it does pay to go and try some dresses on in the shops (even with no intention of buying) just to see which styles are best for you - you might be surprised!0 -
thanks everyone!
Yeah insomniac...i only have one top in my wardrobe which is strapless, and makes me look kind of broad!? but as said...its only a top, and may be different in a dress, i really should go n try a few...im scared though LOL
Im roughly size 10-12
Afitos...that second dress is gorgeous!! x:dance:

Don't be scared - its fun! Btw wedding dress sizes have nothing in common with normal sizes so you might end up in a diff size.
If you find a style you like then post it on here and we'll try and find you one like it in your price range xx0
