  • I also use bastiste, the Diva one is really good and smells yummy! I find that Herbal essence makes my hair greasy!
  • I use and love Batiste, have about 5 cans in my room in case I run out! It does its job well but I find it does dull down hair colour and shine slightly; this isn't really noticeable on me though as I have very light, thick blonde hair. I rub it in with my fingers to get rid of the powdery effect.

A bargain when bought from Savers, price is usually £1.59 but I've bought it for 99p from there before. A word or warning though, I tried a much cheaper version from Savers and it wasn't a patch on the Batiste, did absolutely nothing and I ended up throwing it away so stick to the original!

Washing your hair daily will just make your scalp produce more oil resulting in your hair getting greasy quickly. It's well worth giving Batiste a try if you haven't before and hopefully it'll work for you and mean less hair washing!

  • Batiste dry shampoo is one of my Holy Grail products. You spray it on, rub it in like normal shampoo and then brush it out (although you do have to rub it in quite vigorously, especially if you have dark hair - they do do a brunette version but I've never tried it). I find that it helps with coverage and lack of white flakes on clothes if I tilt my head upside down, spray from the back to the front and then rub it in. It's good for going on nights out as well as a means of giving your hair a bit more volume.

I have heard good things about the Mark Hill dry shampoo as well.

I tried the SD one and hated it, it made my hair even greasier! Or maybe I used too much/too little?

Either way, it's Batiste all the way for me. The other was a false economy - or would have been if I hadn't returned it. I am fed up of buying crap products that DON'T do what they say they will, so now I bring them back!!

i have the baptise one for dark hair and its brill on days you cant be bothered washing in the morning
  • Hey new here, i love dry shampoo. I just use Superdrugs own brand. It is so handy for me as my hair goes greasy within a day! great to take away somewhere i.e if you are staying over at a friends house or whatnot . I just do quick bursts of it all over and then run my fingers through. It doesnt leave my hair looking as though it had just been washed but certainly takes away the " i really need to wash my hair" look. I've been known to use it on just washed hair if my hair is " too clean" and wont style properly, it just adds a little bit of weight. HTH x
  • Dry shampoos as a mass market item went out in the fifties. They used to be popular in the days when en-suite hotel rooms weren't the norm. So for me, they always have a whiff of Max Miller commercial traveler joke about them.

I'm intrigued that they have made a bit of a comeback with a premium image.

They seem to be favoured by people with long hair. I have a feeling that they are always going to be a minority choice.

I must give one a try. Thanks once again to this forum. It really is amazing what comes up here.
