  • I use Batiste - this is a really good product and very cheap too. I've used Lee Stafford before but didn't find it worked.

I've got really thick hair and oily skin so my roots and fringe get greasy quite quickly - this sorted me out

I've tried a few dry shampoos and not been very impressed with any of them. I get really greasy hair at the roots and it really needs washing everyday which is not great for keeping your colour. However I have tried the tres emme one and have found tha.t has quite good results and I can wash my hair every other day. Its worth a try.

i have tried this before and didn't work for me unfortunately.
    thks tho.

Hi, I've used Batiste and Superdrug's own brand, both of which are on offer at the moment at Superdrug. They both work well on my hair.

yes i agree washing everyday is not the best - but it gets soo greasy it looks terrible. It is a natural blond but when it gets greasy it goes really dark and very noticable.

i do alter between 2 shampoos during the week - Timeote and Pantene.

I can't afford to break the bank but i wish i could stop it getting so greasy and needing to wash everyday - that is why i thought of the Dry Shampoo.

i hve used talc in the past too, but was afraid the smell would give me away

This might be your problem here - both Timotei and Pantene leave a build-up in your hair which weighs it down and makes it look greasy. All hairdressers are taught about this. It's definitely worth investing in a slightly more expensive shampoo that doesn't cause product build-up, I'd recommend Tigi, Redken, basically any salon brand.

Personally I've used Tigi solid for about 3 years now, I used to have to wash my hair every day and now I can get away with every other day (and sometimes even 3 days!)

Dry shampoo wise, I'd recommend Batiste, it comes in lots of different lovely scents. Spray it at the roots, give it a ruffle with your fingers then brush it through. Works like magic!
  • I agree with the others that Batiste is fab! although think i need to get some brunette stuff.
I also use stila hair powder and love it so much, comes out as a powder , you sprinkle it on your hands or stright onto your roots and smells lovely.

I also recommend the bastiste. I have very thick hair that takes forever to dry so I wash my hair every other day (or sometimes even every three days if I can get away with it ) so in between I use the canned stuff and other than the fragrance no one would ever be able to tell and come on if you recognise the smell its because you use the product yourself ;)

I agree with this, I have a lot of very thick, long hair, a real mop, but if I use either of those shampoos (or Dove, Herbal Essences, etc, etc) it goes dull and lank and actually feels dirty.

At present I am using Simple shampoo (I also have very sensitive skin) but in the past have used Curlie Girls method of just using conditioner, which worked really well too.

Hi - I am doing the toiletry challenge and asked about dry shampoos on that forum.

Most people seem to favour Batiste - I have just got some from Sup** Dr** online - as they have a special offer at the moment
    3 for £3.49.

Haven't used it yet but will do soon as don't want to wash my long hair everyday, so hope it works. :D
