Splitting the bill...
Comments
-
I went out for a meal with a group which included my friends and some others invited by the organiser. We split the bill which was only about £10 each. However when the money was added up, there was £10 short. No one owned up to not putting in their share, so we all had to put in £1 extra each.
We never did find out who didn't pay!

I'm a veggie and I don't drink but I always agree to splitting the bill - I'm waaay too lazy to work out what I've actually spent and I actually think it's a bit cheeky to expect someone else to work it out for me:o
I would have no problems with someone sitting down and working out exactly what they have spent though, nothing wrong with that and I'd feel a grudging admiration that they could be bothered to work it out.
So it may be that the 'stinginess' is at least partly perceived by the non splitter but doesn't actually exist on the part of the splitters
