look at the person bidding on his item contact that member and tell them if they buy from you they are getting the original and you might throw something extra or something like that or reduce your post and packing
if not send them a snotty email or using your partners login buy something cheap from him and then leave him negative feedback just to make you feel good!!Wins so Far: 21" lcd monitor, 6 day all expenses paid holiday to China, 8800GTX gfx card, 2x Panasonic cameras, 12 cups and Loads of Twix's, Coffee Lovers Hamper - Wild bean cafe. I went to your listing and did as you said ... right-clicked over the picture (and elsewhere on the page) ... and I could have just copied to file anything I wanted on there, so I guess it's not as secure as you thought
BTW, I use Firefox if that makes any difference or not ..."An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

With firefox, you can untick a tick-box in options "allow scripts to disable or replace the context menu". But I could right-click that particular page even with that box ticked
There's also a bookmarklet you can get to restore the context menu in IE (You just click it in your favourits and the protection disappears)
Or like I said before, there's nothing to stop me capturing the screen and cropping it
You could even just save the page and the pic would be deposited neatly in the little yellow folder that accompanies saved web pages0 -
Guys, I think you may be missing the point!Jonni2bad wrote:..it's not entirely foolproof...
I didn't say it will keep your ad totally secure - I also said there were ways to bypass it. BUT, and most importantly, the information given for doing this is free and MAY limit the number of people able to copy your photos.
You've got to remember that very many people who use computers are not that savvy, and if they right click your ad they MIGHT then believe there is no way they can copy it....0 -
No, I fully understood your point but the point I was trying to make was that I didn't have to do any of the things you suggested to bypass the code ... I could just right-click it and have the option of saving it as usual.
Maybe the code doesn't work with firefox and I didn't try it in IE (never fire that up unless absolutely necessary) so I was just making people aware that using the code won't necessarily protect the content of their adverts

I can only guess that's the reason, it certainly works with IE.
Maybe someone else out there has onother way they would like to share with us? If there is a pic i'm using that I would like to 'protect' then I would just add the username across the photo using Photoshop, but I tend to get most of my pics from google searches anyway, so I'm not overly bothered..
Happy selling!!!0
