Other Seller stolen photos

Hi, my first posting so be kind to me!
I have been selling some items on ebay over the last couple of weeks and I have just looked at the competition to compare prices only to find that another seller has stolen my photos.
Is there anything I can do not only have they nicked my photos but they have undercut me as well!! I think I saw something on ebay before about reporting this but can't find it now.
My items don't cost mega bucks but I was really proud of my photos! Plus it takes ages to take the photos and list them.
Thanks

Been in the same situation myself. Annoying isn't it?
Whilst you obviously own the rights to the images, and your competitor does not, there's little you can realistically do now other than politely ask him/her to remove them from his/her listings. Although it's against eBay policy to copy images like this, eBay really won't be interested.
The only thing that's going to stop this happening in the future is to watermark your images.
If you have photoshop, PM me and I'll forward a .psd file to add to your images.0 -
if you still have yours up there,if you change them, does it change his aswell?
If so,you could change your photo for one with your ebay name written across the bottom and it would be in his listing for all to see.0 -
Or if he's linking to your upload site then just change it to something totally unsuitable

I really do hate it when that happens. If a seller doesn't have a photo why on earth do they bother copying someone else's! Can they not just do without!

Its proably a dodgy item if they copy the photo!0 -

The person who has used your pics probably hasnt got access to a camera and generally items do sell better with a pic, I dont think that means that the goods are dodgy though, its hardly crime of the century! I would personally ask them politely, to remove their pics as it is a bit of a cheek.regards, Elaine“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Yes but more than likely if they use someone else's photos then it is a dodgy item!elaine373 wrote:The person who has used your pics probably hasnt got access to a camera and generally items do sell better with a pic, I dont think that means that the goods are dodgy though, its hardly crime of the century! I learned that from my experience!

Someone who was apparently selling for charity stole my auction pics once. I was so angry as i saw it as theft, which effectively it was. I emailed them and had a right good rant about it . I now always stick my username somewhere on the pic where it cant be cut off."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0

are you totally sure it's your pic they've pinched? if there's nothing to identify you on the pic, how do you know they pinched yours? just being curious :-)52% tight0

If I had choice of which item to buy, I'd buy the cheaper one! Whether they used someone elses photo or not - In the interest of money savings!
I once done it and the owner of the photograph sent me an email requesting £5 for permission to use it. I paid the £5 as I'd did use it and could not make it myself.
You could try that - demand £5 or you'll report them!
But I agree with the above - put on your watermark and website name.0 -
You can add some HTML to your listing - don't worry, I don't understand it either! - but if you copy this text below, and then paste it into the start of your add then many people out there will not know how to bypass it. Basically, if anyone tries to select any part of your ad by right-clicking, they get a message on screen saying "Sorry, you do not have permission copy." and they can't then save your pics etc.
Quite a good, easy way of protecting your ad in general, not just your pic, although it's not entirely foolproof. If you're savvy enough, you'll know that selecting the pic with your left button and then doing a "Ctrl C" will in fact still copy it.. But hey, this is free so give it a go!
1) When you get to the bit where you enter the description, you see 2 tabs on top - one saying "STANDARD" and the other "ENTER YOUR OWN HTML".
2) Click on the "Enter your own HTML" tab and just paste the text.
3) Go back to "Standard" and then enter your full add below this text (the text itself will NOT show up in your advert)
4) Complete the rest of the process exactly as you normally would
If you, or anyone else, wants further help, I'm happy to help you get it sorted, just send me a PM. An example of this can be seen here - try and right-click anywhere on the ad and see what happens!! I've picked an old advert, just so that I can't be accused of promoting a sale...

Anyway, here it is, copy everything below, including all the little arrows and dots etc.
