    Do not use reglazemyglasses.com

I sent them 2 pairs of glasses and have only received 1 pair back. Reglazemyglasses have no idea where the other pair are. Despite multiple phone calls and emails, they are doing nothing to find my other pair or compensate me for the loss of expensive frames.

I paid for special delivery but they cannot provide me with a tracking reference for the second pair. They do not call back when requested. Their administration is extremely poor and their customer service is abysmal.

I am sorry we did not get the issue resolved. This maybe due to an issue with our ticketing system and staffing issues at the time. Please get back in touch and I can pick this up again to get it resolved.

Based on my experience with the first pair they did for me a couple of months ago, I sent another pair off today.

However, I would echo the comment about the frame "MOT" which includes the sonic clean. My frames didn't look any different at all and I won't be paying for it this time around.

Yes I do apologise. A few orders suffered from this oversight. The issue has now been resolved. I am sorry that it was missed on your order.

I just want to share my experience of using reglazemyglasses.com

I recently used them to have my glasses reglazed and had a mixed feeling about the results. Overall I am very pleased with the value of the service but there were a few things I had an issue with:

    1) Over the phone they recommended me to choose a thicker lens - which in all fairness means less revenue from them - because I have a rimless frame. However, the finished product was thicker than my previous lens and felt a bit disappointed
    2) I paid £6.50 extra for next day delivery (which they recommended me to do) but they underpaid the postage and I had to go to post office to pay an extra 2 quid to get my parcel,
    3) I paid extra for a sonic clean but there was still visible dirt under the eyepieces which came off easily with my fingernail - so much for a deep clean!.

In fairness to them they refunded me for the delivery, the extra 2 quid and the cleaning service, however I don't feel my complaint email was dealt with in a timely fashion. I get the impression they may be understaffed or swamped with orders. Not sure if I could recommend them or use them again but the price is hard to beat.

Apologies for the issues. Yes we were under pressure and newly hired staff at the time did not work out how we planned it too. Lots of lessons learned.

Unfortunately I won't be using reglaze my glasses again either. Glasses were returned but the arms bent so they no longer fit my face and lie skew-whiff and look stupid. I have emailed twice and not had a response either time. I've not had chance to chase on the phone and tbh given they were my spare pair (used to test the service) I'm not stuffed without them.

My guess is they're cheap for a reason.

I am sorry about the emails not being replied too. We do use a ticketing system which is supposed to ensure that emails don't get missed. We did have a technical issue with it at one point.

Please get in touch again, as we are up to full strength. We would like to put the issue right.

    hi there
i thought i would update on my hunt for reglazing my glasses, i found http://www.specs-by-post.com/ the lowest level of new lenses is £10 plus £3.65 postage, but it goes higher with the more options you take.

I think its great being able to reglaze at this price.

I only sent my glasses and form away on Saturday so i can't comment on how good they are until i recieve them back.

    Hi Buba

    How did you get on?
I have a few pairs I want to turn into spare readers to dot about the place.
  • Buba2006, see my thread Boots Opticians on "Praise, Vent, Warning" forum
    Kind regards,
    Maria
  • I chose ReglazeMyGlasses from Nottingham for reglazing because unlike other vendors they supply a pack you can send your glasses in. There was no advice that you should seal the pack but I decided to apply some sticky tape before I sent it off. They phoned to tell me that they did not receive the frames, although they could not tell me the state of the pack when it arrived and it took them two weeks to decide that they definitely didn’t have the frames. This all suggests that they do not have a proper procedure for recording exactly what they receive. For all I know they might give a good service if the frames actually make it into their system. If you decide to use this company then I would recommend that you wind half a reel of Sellotape around the pack.
  • Why does it need to be so complicated to simply reglaze glasses. The options available, the hidden costs and the ludicrously low first contact offers makes the whole thing meaningless unless you go through each and every link to obtain the full quote including delivery costs.

I simply require my glasses reglazed, I have a medium high prescription so I needed the 1.6 thin option otherwise my glasses would have looked like the bottom of a glass bottle, I only wanted single vision for distance and I have full rimmed glasses. My only requirement was who was the cheapest.

I have not ordered anything and cannot comment on the quality, reliability and customer service. Please feel free to expand this to include your own options.

I did not select any other options that cost more money (they have been included free) so as of Sep/Oct 2016 who is actually the cheapest.

DirectSight is the cheapest at £30.95 (1.6 thin, Scratch Resistant, Ant Glare, UV included, Delivery Included)

I have searched 15 other companies but for some reason I can’t include a link to an image of my price comparison table AND the forum editor is a bit basic and will not allow the inclusion of tables.

Incidentally I bought my designer glasses with ce mark for £1.57 from aliexpress

You clearly need glasses then as you must have missed the condition on spamming you agreed to.

Bumping two similar threads with the same post is quite out of order!
  • Jumping onto this quite late as I have just been looking into ordering a reglaze online from reglaze-glasses-direct (formally Cillery Blue). They have a good feefo rating which seems a good thing. Apparently they currently use WLC for all their lenses which are a UK optician supplier and part of the Essilor group.

Are WLC still considered a good lense company? The only other part of ordering online that I am slightly concerned about is having an accurate PD value. I might go and see if I can get this done somewhere in the high street.

Any help would be very welcome! Thanks
