REGLAZE my Glasses
Comments
-
I used ReglazeMyGlasses a couple of months ago. I need 1.74 index varifocals as I have a strong prescription, and I was worried about whether an online company would be able to get them correctly fitted.
I got my pupil distance from the optician who did my eye test and also sent in some photos of me wearing glasses and they checked everything.
My new glasses seem perfect!
And now that they have all my measurements on file, next time I need another pair I just need to give them my current prescription and voila, high quality new glasses much cheaper than my local optician.0 -
I've been wondering how varifocal measurements work if you buy online.
I love my glasses, but sSpecsavers won't guarantee a re glaze , even though it would cost £200.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
I've had mine done online. The first time I bought them I was asked to send in a close up 'selfie' of the frame and my eyes. Apparently they can work out all measurements from this. It must work because I could see clearly through the glasses once they arrived. The second pair I bought, this year, I just had to send the frame to them as they took the measurements from the lenses that were already in there.
My optician tried the old scaremongering tactics when he found out what I was doing, but that was because he wanted to charge nearly £500 for lenses that cost only £239 online.I only wear the best Zeiss lenses. You get the same guarantees when ordering online, so there is no risk to you. I got the same warranty with my Zeiss lenses that my optician would have given me. If you can't see out of them you just send them back.0 -
I have contact lenses, glasses and prescription glasses and they all have different specifications and the glasses and contacts have slightly different prescriptions so I'm maybe not a standard customer.
Nevertheless been using Specsavers for abt six years now and went last week. I'm happy with my frames but needed new lenses.
There's a £39 charge for reglazing plus of course the charges for the new lenses. It worked out cheaper to get the special offer.
I ended up ordering two new frames identical to the ones I have now @£69 each plus prescription Pentax sunglass lenses for one pair and Pentax antiglare for the other.
When the offer discounts were taken off effectively I got £2 off each frame and both sets of Pentax lenses for free.0 -
Do not use reglazemyglasses.com
I sent them 2 pairs of glasses and have only received 1 pair back. Reglazemyglasses have no idea where the other pair are. Despite multiple phone calls and emails, they are doing nothing to find my other pair or compensate me for the loss of expensive frames.
I paid for special delivery but they cannot provide me with a tracking reference for the second pair. They do not call back when requested. Their administration is extremely poor and their customer service is abysmal.0 -
Having a similar problem with them myself. I've been waiting over four weeks for my glasses and also finding it very difficult to get through to them. They weren't answering the phone or emails. Finally, today, I actually got through to someone who promises that I'll have them by next week.
Apparently, they've been inundated due to a recent offer and are slowly working through the backlog.
Don't give up...they are usually very efficient.0 -
Unfortunately I won't be using reglaze my glasses again either. Glasses were returned but the arms bent so they no longer fit my face and lie skew-whiff and look stupid. I have emailed twice and not had a response either time. I've not had chance to chase on the phone and tbh given they were my spare pair (used to test the service) I'm not stuffed without them.
My guess is they're cheap for a reason.Trying to get on top of finances one step at a time0 -
I just want to share my experience of using reglazemyglasses.com
I recently used them to have my glasses reglazed and had a mixed feeling about the results. Overall I am very pleased with the value of the service but there were a few things I had an issue with:
1) Over the phone they recommended me to choose a thicker lens - which in all fairness means less revenue from them - because I have a rimless frame. However, the finished product was thicker than my previous lens and felt a bit disappointed
2) I paid £6.50 extra for next day delivery (which they recommended me to do) but they underpaid the postage and I had to go to post office to pay an extra 2 quid to get my parcel,
3) I paid extra for a sonic clean but there was still visible dirt under the eyepieces which came off easily with my fingernail - so much for a deep clean!.
In fairness to them they refunded me for the delivery, the extra 2 quid and the cleaning service, however I don't feel my complaint email was dealt with in a timely fashion. I get the impression they may be understaffed or swamped with orders. Not sure if I could recommend them or use them again but the price is hard to beat.0 -
If you have re-glaze or new frames from an optician, you can go back to have the lenses re-aligned or the frames readjusted so you are looking through the correct part of the lenses.0

Based on my experience with the first pair they did for me a couple of months ago, I sent another pair off today.
However, I would echo the comment about the frame "MOT" which includes the sonic clean. My frames didn't look any different at all and I won't be paying for it this time around.0
