Pop-up messages a PITA !

Hi,

While mousing over threads/message topics, a 'hover' pop-up screen appears with the message in it. They're very distracting and don't hang around long enough to be able to read the contents.

Can we have them removed ?

If you hold the mouse over them, they stay long enough for you to read them. I always use them as a quick preview of a thread before deciding whether to click through and read it properly.

i really like them, help me to decide if i want to bother opening and reading the whole thread or not.

I've had a look at some other forums and the reason I don't use them is because I get so fed up of seeing a title 'Shall I?' or 'What does this mean?' or 'So fed up' and then clicking on it, waiting for ages while it loads and then finding out it's something I'm not really interested in.

I find the ability to read the first bit of a thread one of the best bits of the forums on MSE.

I find them very useful, especially for new threads where the original poster has included no useful info in the post title (often on the techies board)
