i am in need of some advice please for my neighbour.....
he has just split up with his partner of 6 years, ( she has been seeing someone else behind his back),
they have a little girl together and also a house which is part rent part buy.
she has left the house at the moment.
their little girl is with him.
they both need to work, she works thurs fri, sat and sun
he works full time , she has said he can have their little girl, thurs fri, sat, and sun and she will have her mon tues and weds.
but he needs to know how to take her name off the mortgage ( she seems happy to do so).... she cannot afford the mortgage on her own.
he doesnt want to upset her though because he doesnt want to get stopped from seeing his little girl.
hes not dealt much with tax credits or anything and if they are to have shared access of their daughter , although she will be with him for 4 days a week... i still think she will contact csa even though he will be more than prepared to provide for his daughter.
any help or advice greatly received.
thank you.

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend,
Fathers truly do get a raw deal with it comes to their children in particular and it's just a pity that more people don't speak up for them... although, it's probably better they don't as it leaves you open to all sorts of retaliation in these PC times. I commend this man for doing what's right and I unfortunately know of many men in a similar situation, seems to me that many more women are playing away from home nowadays! Anyway, his priority should be in establishing solid contact and who's going to be the PWC for the little girl. Whoever is the NRP will possibly have to pay CSA and the PWC will almost certainly be entitled to Tax Credits etc but just to be sure? I'd input your information on this link: http://www.turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx it will tell you everything you need to know. I sincerely hope everything works out for your friend because it's never nice having to deal with situations such as this. He should know that it's best to have everything settled amicably as it's very easy for women to stop fathers from seeing their children, courts don't seem to uphold their orders in regards to this either which means and I've read untold hundreds of stories over on the Child Support forum of fathers having a nightmare of things and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I hope that whatever happens, they do what's right for this little girl and don't allow personal feelings to come into it. SHE must be the priority as she needs BOTH parents in her life.
Hopefully your friend and his daughter will be just fine

i have been on the website earlier and it gives details of entitlement but hes unsure who would claim it if he has his daughter for 4 days and his ex partner for 3. he doesnt want to stop his partner receiving any money but he is going to try and keep the house on my himself so he is going to need all the help he can get.relynutz says it all

Which of the couple is claiming Child Benefit? If the father is going to be the PWC, he needs to be the one receiving CB.0

Hi there,
Couldn't they possibly divide up the money for the days on which each parent has the child? that sounds far.. but then again, it could cause further problems and that's the last thing I'd want, especially when a child is involved. Your friend really must try and get this sorted out as quickly as he can, take whatever help is available and not be ashamed or afraid to do so. I know I've not been the greatest of helps but I really feel for him and his little girl and I just want you to know that I hope everything works out for the best.0 -
if he is having the Daughter 4 days a week he NEEDS!!! to ring tax credits first thing on monday and tell them and change everything into his name. before even considering the mortgage or anything else he has to do that or he is going to be screwed.Had my amazing little girlie 08/12/2007 - 11 days late! 9lbs 3oz
My second little girl entered the world 20/03/2010 - 11 days late! 8lbs 4oz
Sealed pot challenge 4 - 332
Make £11k in 2011 £0/£11000 - 0%

am guessing that PWC means parent with custody?
at the moment it is arranged that their little girl will be with dad for 4 days and mum for 3
this has all happened this weekend, so no legal advice has been sought yet. He is looking at taking monday off work to go and seek advice hopefully through CAB.relynutz says it all

he's thinking if his partner knows he will receive money she will either reduce her working hours so he no longer has to have her 4 days so she can receive the money of if he goes on to receive tax credits it may jeopadise him seeing his daughter.
i have neighbour here at moment so hes voicing his concernsrelynutz says it all

Sometimes, but I wouldn't say that was the case here. The mother has moved out of the house, agreed to turn the property over to him (or at least have her name removed from the mortgage) and agreed to (equal) shared custody of their daughter. Seems pretty fair to me - unless I have misunderstood

She can't make that decision. If the parents can't agree on the child care arangements, they may have to go to court. As he is living at home with the child, he may be given priority but he will have to show suitable child care arrangements for when he is at work.
He urgently needs legal advice.0 -

....they have only had their mortgage for 3 years so they have realsied that if they sell their house they will owe money on it.
he said he wont stop her having anything out of the house.... even though she has been cheating on him he has still been offering to pick her up from work during the past week when deatils were coming out about what had happened she had still been spending hundreds of pounds on new underwear, clothes etcrelynutz says it all
