You know that's true for every force do you? I know you're wrong.

    Are you still in school?

I don't really care if it is true for every Police force in the UK, though as Police cars appear to be on MID what does that tell you?

I am not an authority on everything to do with the Police, but I now what I have been told, and what I know to be true due to personal experience.

My only qualification is being a member of the Emergency Services for a decade and having had similar conversations with coppers and with other staff in the Ambulance service that have done 35 years and where around when everybody, Police, Post Office and Ambulance Services had Crown Indemnity. Might have something to do with the fact mots of these vehicles have the Crown on the side perhaps.

Now you disagree with everything I say because you are only on this forum to annoy people.

Why would you know better than me on this subject?

Obviously all the people that are have been employed in this field for decades are lying. I don't make information up, or get it from Google, or misquote or partially quote the RTA. missing out the bits that don't fit your opinion, you do that, I just go by the facts, as they are explained to me by people in a position to know better than I do, or for that matter than you do.

Well don't quote it as fact, some forces have insurance others don't deal with the fact. As you say you work for the ambulance service so you are no expert.

I should correct that, I am uninterested in what you think.

The simple fact is you are in no position to know what anybody else knows or thinks, now go and google that.

I suppose the fact that I work with the Police and there are several ex coppers at work means nothing.

Obviously I shall believe a person on a forum that is little more than an uninformed keyboard warrier.

I am no expert, which means by definition you must be wrong.

Which Forces have Insurance and which ones don't?

    Take your time.

You show enough interest to keep posting, even when wrong.;)

Even the RTA states you don't actually need insurance, had you read it. I take it you can?;)

If a Police car is covered for liability in this way then try and put a Police car reg no into MID, I believe you will find that it shows up as insured,

You would probably be breaching the Data Protection Act (and certainly the terms of use of the askmid website) if you checked any vehicle that you were not driving or likely to drive!

Didn't somebody tell you that you were interpreting the RTA out of context?

Actually I find it amusing when you state that somebody is wrong when you have no evidence to the contrary, just saying not all Police Forces have Insurance doesn't make it factual.

But you fail to realise that such things as liability and insurance are approached in much the same way by the Police and Ambulance service, they have to be due to the fact the liabilities are almost identical.

Which Police force did you work for?

Which Ambulance Service did you work for?

Which Fire Service did you work for?

My info comes from direct experience and the experience of others over decades. Your opinion comes from Google and pub rumour.

I posted this so that anybody who thinks Police cars are unisured and therefore not on MID could see the pointlessness of saying they are uninsured, if they were they would show up on ANPR all the time, a vehicle can only be on MID if it is Insured.

When did you last see an undercover policecar get pulled over by a traffic car from a neighbouring force, or in fact their own traffic units, they would all the time if they were uninsured.

If you say so, but the pay slips say different.;)

How would the public know it was an undercover police vehicle?
So how about the problem with the registration number, is insurance held against the ghost plates? If the number isn't on any database it won't show up will if.:D

You only know what you've been told about police vehicles, second hand information, stick to advice on plasters and bandages.;)

There are 'unmarked' police cars (and other services) that have their plates 'blanked'.ie do not come up on the PNC system, and the police know to leave it alone when told its is a 'blanked' car.
Otherwise they on the PNC as undercover cars........
