You may have to set the boot order in the bios to cd/dvd drive first to boot from the disc, or press F12, however that is still drastic at this stage.
do the arrow key work in the bios screen, it's strange that they don't work at F8, do you get the normal safe mode options? Which operating system?
does it have a sata hard disk?!!

Hi closed.
The arrow keys do work on the bios page and on the safe mode page.
However what happens is, is when i press safe mode and press enter a list comes up and it says use arrow keys to move up and down list for a place to go, but the arrow keys then do nothing, which i find crazy as they work anywhere else that i need to use them.
This is really driving me mad now, but thanks for all the help here everyone.

Then which fromm the following would i choose to be able to reinstall windows?
Boot device priority.
removable drives.
hard disc drives.
cdrom drives.
boot settings configuration.
security.
When i have highlighted any of these and gone to them it says press enter to run asus EZ flash 2.
