Well I've got all my "suggestions for Growth" in.

    5. Free Stakeholder Pension contributions (£3,600) per annum for the unemployed.

I think we (effectively) already have that, I think it is called pension credit and is not just for the unemployed ;)

Politicians need to be seen to be listening even when the decisions are all stitched up months ago.

The key feature of the budget will be a clear run for bankers to get bonuses to be able to further support the party in power. Perhaps tax relief on political donations. Maybe a new tax haven region within the M25.

If you want business to expand to take on more labour it seems sensible to ask them what rule changes would encourage them to do that.

I think that perhaps they should be in a position to know this already bearing in mind their budget & forecasts were based on a private led recovery. ;)

    Apparently so.
When I first read it, I thought I had picked up "Private Eye" or "Viz" by mistake.

I will suggest that they form a coalition with the Lib-Dems as the Tories don't have enough good ideas of their own.

I agree, it does read like a Daily Mash headline.

Project Merlin is probably Daily Mash material. If not it might make the budget.
When I mentioned an inside M25 haven I did not rule out yachts or palatial business premises on the Thames. The Thames could be a Monaco type harbour.

2 ways of looking at this.

either it's a jesture/PR stunt as it was last year when they set up the civil servants portal to suggest ideas.

    OR

Osbourne is so lacking in ability that he has no clue and is looking for us to do his job for him.

Your 2 options are not mutually exclusive. ;)

Maybe it's just me, but I expect a government to...erm....govern? The consultation with Joe Public was done last May.
And I must have missed the consultation when they decided to hike VAT, lower corporations tax, slash university funding, treble tuition fees, etc....
