Not seen a 15 or 18 month offer yet but would like one! Got a 9 month offer leaflet with our NTL bill this month, will take notice of the junk mail now instead of just chucking it!
  • Following tips earlier in this thread I went shopping to Asda this morning - Edinburgh - the Classic Car magazines were there, complete with the application forms:D. The staff were all over the place so "browsing" was a bit difficult. :o (Mothers' Day - the shop was heaving!!). There were 20+ copies of the magazine there, and the forms that I got were in the front ones so presumably no other moneysavers had got there before me. The forms are still out there - go gettem folks!

I have one spare 18 month and two spare 15 month App. forms.

It is a pity that there is a 2% (max £50) handling fee for Balance Transfers, but I suppose we can't have everything!:( Can someone tell me - I have never looked at a card with charge for BTs before - how does the £50 fee "work"? Is it added to the amount of the BT? If so, is it also 18 months interest free? If not, and it counts as a "transaction", does it attract interest from day 1 until the end of the 18 months?

First 3 pms to me can get the spare forms - I'll put another message on when/if they are gone.

    Happy hunting!

After reading some of the small print -
On the 15 and 18 month forms it says -
If you have applied for a Capital One card in the last six months your application may be declined.
If you already have a Capital One card please do not re-apply.
Applicants must be aged 21 or over and resident in the UK and receiving an income of more than £10,000 per annum.

On the 9 months one it says -
If you have applied for a Capital One card in the last six months your application may be declined.
If you already have a Capital One card please do not re-apply.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over and resident in the UK. (no mention of income limit)

    Hope that info helps

  • All,

Wild_Rover, glad you found the form . Is it usual to state on the form how much you want to BT, or do you wait to see what limit they give you. Will asking for £15k affect the limit? Any advice?

Same edition had the full range i.e. each copy had one of either 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 month and 18 months offers in the magazines..... not sure what Cap 1 gain from this scatter gun approach?

Upshot is - it may be worth looking in a few copies of the same magazine. If at first you don't succeed ...

  • Whoa there - hold on there Mark200!

I am just about as close to being a novice at this as you can find! I am happy enough to have helped a couple of others get hold of the forms - I am about 10 stoozes away from giving advice! I am coming to the end of my first stooze although I have BT'd previous CC debts.

I am hoping to get advice myself on how best to make use of this. In an earlier post here I asked a question - maybe a daft one, but, hey, I'm willing to admit that I am still a bit new and nervous about all this stoozing malarky, but it seems to work! I asked about the effect of the maximum £50 charge for a BT (eg does it attract interest for 18 months or is it counted as part of the BT and so is interest free) - there is no reply here yet so either nobody has spotted the question, or nobody knows, or if they do know they haven't had the time or inclination to respond! If there is no reply soon-ish, I'll maybe start a new thread asking it again.

    All the best.
