can you open the notification bar, where it shows your clock and battery symbol etc. Is there an option there yo turn it on?

Have you got Android 2.2 or 2.1 on your phone?

Hi, I've checked the firmware version, it's 2.2

I've downloaded that app as well. When I press on it the icon turns from green to red to green etc, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Nothing changes in the notification area.

Think I've got a dud phone.

EDIT: sorry, forgot to say there's no option to turn it on/off when I drag the notification bar down.

On my galaxy s I don't have the 3g symbol as my connection is always HSDPA by default and I'm in a good reception area. Do you have an 'H' next to your signal strength bar?

Hi,

I didn't have a "H" either, but I do now thanks to a very nice man in the Vodafone shop who fixed it for me in about 30 seconds this afternoon.
