    Right.

    1. When do you need to give him notice (I think you said the rent day is 28th, get artfull or someone to confirm when you can leave without penalty.
    2. Get something that records, or at least makes a clicking sound. Next time he phones, advise him that you are recording all his calls because of his abusive behaviour. And if possible do so. I suspect he will ring off immediately.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • my rent is the 28th yes, my 6 months expired in april so i am month to month, altho aparently he is (his words not mine) "bringing you a f***ng eviction letter) I replied with, if thats what you want to do then i cant stop you, however as my rent is up to date i have not breached anything.

I can record calls on my phone if he calls my mobile, if he calls the house phone i can just say i am.

Thank you. also if he comes to the house the police will be called imediatley

Well, he has to give you two months from February 28, which is April 28. You only need to give him one month's notice (check this for Scotland), which would be March 28. When do you want to leave?

  • I want to leave now. but I will be moving out at the begining of march, I am typing out my notice just now and will be giving it tomorow. if i move out at the begining, like the 5-6th it gives me time to get the cleaners in and make sure they have done it properly etc before handing in keys.

I know he hasnt been a good guy, but i will still be making sure i do things right and get it all done properly. That way i can go with my head held high. and if any of this ever goes to court etc i am able to show i did things the right way.

Take photos of everything before you leave, right down to an overhead view of the loo and the inside of the oven.
