Asda.com DISASTER!!

Options
Hi all, im new to the forums but just had to vent!

I have been using Asda for my home delivery for months and although there have been many little hitches, nothing major has happened but last nights experience has put me off EVER using them again!

We ordered our shopping online on Wednesday night for delivery last night between 6 and 8pm, by 8.15 there wqas no sign so we called the helpline (in South Africa) and after 30mins of being on hold, we were told " we will set up communications with your store"! We took that to mean they would contact them (which they didnt).

After calling the store ourselves we were told the driver was held up and would be to us by 9pm although the driver had made no contact with us. By 9.30pm STILL no shopping and no phonecall. After another 3 phonecalls to the store and twice more being told they were sorry but it was on its way we called again just before midnight to be told that the home shopping team had gone home and our shopping wasnt coming tonight! NO explanation as to why! I was fuming, we had no breakfast items, nothing for the kids lunches etc.

Since there was nothing i could do about it then i called again this morning at 7.45 to find out where it was. I was told how sorry they were and it would be here between 9 and 11am. I told them very clearly NOT to arrive before 9.15 as i had to do the school run, they agreed and off i went. I returned home at 9.15 on the dot to find all my shopping dumped, in the Asda boxes, in my door way! All my frozen food missing!

Well that was it! I have NEVER been so mad, i called them straight up and demanded my frozen food was delivered asap and that i get compensation for the disgusting treatment we have recieved, which they actually agreed to but we shall see whether i get my frozen food or compensation, im certainly not holding my breath.

Rant over, just had to express my anger

You need to read the world news a bit.

If that is what you term a disaster you must have had a very easy life. ;)

gosh that really is appauling customer service
The opposite of what you know...is also true
  • I use Asda online every week. I am waiting for a delivery today and have just been phoned by the driver to say it will be an hour late. They have done this a few times but they always phone to say if they are held up. I think you have just got pretty unlucky :)
  • Chalkie99, yes your right, maybe "disaster" isnt quite the right word to use but still a shocking service :)
  • Undercoverblonde, i have always been called before if it has been late, even called once to say they would be early but not this time.

Maybe you should be better prepared seeing you have children - not to be in the house with no food to give them.

    Still, CS were pants.

How is that harsh? Isn't it common sense? Having nothing to give the kids is very bad organising IMO.

Had a couple of similar experiences with asda, apparently even the stores can't get in touch with their drivers once they have left the store, also had the guy drive off once after having unloaded half the shopping and couldn't get them to send him back with the rest. They also are good at short dates on fresh items.

Now pay more for less stress with sainsburys.
