How much to have a new car battery fitted?

I haven't had on fitted for a few years now.

I know it's cheaper to do it yourself but I don't want to go that route.

Can anyone give me a rough estimate of what I should be paying for new battery + fitting?

Halfords will maybe fit for free if you strike up good banter with one of the staff in store, failing that they'll charge around a £5

Really though you should just fit yourself. It's a 10 min job max, and is easily accomplished by even the most inexperienced motorist

Halfrauds are way overpriced for batteries though.

My sister-in law bought one there a few months ago for her Fiesta. £80, but I could have got one for £25 for her!! They did fit it for free though, lol!

it depends where you go - I was considering going to Halfords for a new battery last month, the price would have been £70 including fitting.

I was at the little independant garage around the corner from my house getting brake discs and pads on, asked them how much for a new battery and fitting - £47! Very happy with that price.

The price of the battery will depend on what car it's for too, amperage etc...

I'd expect to pay between £30 and £100.

depends on the car a heavy duty battery for a big diesel will be way more expensive than an 063 for a corsa 1.2 petrol.

I agree with Rossy, its easier than changing a wheel on most cars!

agreed they are a rip off unless you have a trade card then they are comparable to a local motor factor.

I fitted my new battery, and I have no real knowledge, connect up the 2 terminals, tighten the screw/bolt things, put red cap back on tight, close bonnet and away I went. 10 mins in total.

just make sure you know your radio/cd code as a lot of systems will ask for it when you re connect your new battery.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
