do you know if you can withdraw a large sum over the counter at lloyds?

Its just that all my bills come out of my lloyds cash account, normally I withdraw whatever is left and put it in my coop cashminder cos it has a debit card.....problem is it takes me an hour round trip at lunchtime to get to the post office to pay it in!

was thinking get wages paid into citibank, then withdraw bills money and pay that into LLoyds, leaving my spare cash in citibank!! so no trek required :j

    I've confused myself now :o

I think you can withdraw up to £400 at any cash machine. Why not pay your bills from your Citibank account? Then you dont even have to walk to Lloyds!
Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
    Debt free 21st Oct 2011.

    All thanks to :money:
  • I find it easier to keep all bills on one account, so i don't get caught short with direct debits that come out later in the month......and I just changed them all to lloyds last month!! also my BF banks with them so its easy to transfer his half of the bills in......

I hope I get my citibank account now :j

saying all this, there are 2 citibank branches not far from where I work the are open till 8pm!!! EXCELLENT

I don't have an IVA at the moment but hope to have one in place soon, having been advised to do so by the CAB. I haven't got any CCJ's yet but I do have a couple (or more) of defaults.
Currently I have an Abbey basic bank account which is a complete pain because of course there is no debit card so can't buy online and save a bit of money and have to go to the branch, passport in hand, everytime I want a cheque.

So I am wondering do you think Citibank would give me an account with a debit card at this stage? Or do you think I would be better getting a splash card ?(tho I hate paying fees for something that would otherwise be free).
    All advice gratefully received.

More to get cashback through Quidco than anything else I applied for a bank account with Citibank last month. Despite being 4 months into an IVA they not only approved me for the account (I asked for no overdraft of course), but they also gave me a proper Visa Debit card!

Worth a try for those who are having trouble getting one.

I got my application pack through this morning
The only problem I have is that it asks for a cheque for £1 to be written out in my name. But I don't have a chequebook as I now only have a Basic Account.
Is there anyway round this at all???
    £2 Coin Savings = £0.23:confused:

You could perhaps get someone else to write you a cheque? Alternatively you can ask the branch where you have your basic account for a cheque. I have to do this 3 or 4 times a month at the Abbey. There is no charge but you do need some additional form of id, yep, even for very small amounts. I take my passport. (Of course this is why I am hoping to get an account with Citibank :))

Ah brilliant, I'll pop into Abbey (snap!) tomorrow and get a cheque made payable to myself
If I get the Citibank account I'll be well chuffed
