Massive labour vibes MrsS and Madbird - wow things are moving quick on that list aren't they!
Bella glad your OH calmed down and the £300 is a great result, hope it all gets sorted for you as you certainly don't need the worry.
I too am hoping little one won't come early as am way too unprepared and too much to do... nursery needs painting and decorating, hospital bag to sort and also we want to get the dining area and living room plastered, and are only at the quote stage...:):)

What do you think of the sensor pads with monitors? We're tempted but wondered if it's a bit OTT? That's one of the last things on the list yet to buy.
With hosp bags how many outfits for bubs are you putting in? We're only a ten min drive from our local hosp so assuming there's no problem and I deliver there it won't take DH long to pop home for extras. I'm hoping we won't be stuck in for long but I understand anything could happen to change that. I was thinking of packing a back up bag for DH to collect if we end up staying longer so it's ready but so we don't take too much to begin with. Any suggestions?
Sorry for the ramble!
One of my friends had a baby in March and she has a sensor mat. One night the alarm went off as baby had stopped breathing, thankfully when she picked her bubs up he started breathing again and it seemed that he had just sort of "forgotten" to breathe as she took him to be checked out and he was fine. That convinced me to get one, if the alarm hadn't have gone off she wouldn't have known and he may not have remembered to breathe.
Im not trying to scare anyone I just think it's better to be safe than sorry
Im only about 10 mins from the hospital too, I've packed 4 sleepsuits with mittens and vests for bubs, two hats and a blanket. I have some more newborn sized stuff ready in a drawer on it's own in case we need more but I know OH will mess it up so hopefully we won't need it!
Horrid rain here today, it woke me up tapping on the windows all night! Really need to go shopping today and get a few things but the weather is totally putting me off!
Hope everyone is well and massive labour vibes to madbird:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -

I have mainly followed the hospital bag list on here. 4 vests, 4 sleepsuits, mittens, hat, socks, muslin squares, cellular blanket, wipes, cotton woll, nappies. Also an outfit for him to come home in and a little romper suit for while we are in the unit. Will get him a towel possibly or use one we already have for him.
I have done the same as Apricot and have a drawer with newborn clothes so I will point it out to hubby and if we need more he can come and get them since we arent far from the midwife unit Im hoping to use. If we have to go to hospital then its a lot further so will have to just have someone else bring it in.
How is everyone doing today? Im not feeling too bad so far. Have noticed the nausea is starting up again, especially when eating and drinking but Ive got to not do both together lol.
Maternity leave officially starts this week. Have to go in though and sort out my last 2 wages as they were wrong. Im a bit annoyed about one actually as I have a midwife appointment during work times and gave my manager a planned absence form and it would seem she didnt pass it on to the relevant people so I didnt get paidAlso got a bonus on the next pay but they have basically taken it off me by not paying me for holiday time taken so have to go sort it out! Annoying
Have been trying to get one of those nursing chairs on ebay still. Having a bit of difficulty since I cant go very high - limit is £50. Emailed someone if they had a buy now price and they replied with £75.. so not what other second hand chairs Ive been watching are going for lol so wil just bid and see though it ends on my wedding anniversary so probably will miss that one too.:j0 -

Sensor pads... I almost lost DS3 a few times so I wouldn't be without one. Tiddles set it off a couple of times and Squeak has alarmed hers several times while she has been unwell the last couple of weeks. i also have a respisense for when we are away from home or in the car on long journeys.. I am a little neurotic about this after waking up to find DS3 cold and blue!
I packed up a second bag with 4 sleepsuits and bodysuits and a couple of cardies and socks and muslin squares... then discharged mysef next morning so they weren't needed.. lol I will be discharging myself the same day this time I think.. I am NOT staying overnight.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Flower -I'm exactly the same! 21+4 and I've been eating non stop pretty much since i got pregnant. I've put on 10 pounds but I'm all bump and bbs. I'm hoping my bbs don't keep growing! I get sick if I go more than a couple of hours without eating so I don't really have a choice but I'm trying to be careful to eat the right things (mostly)!0

Of course you should eat if you are hungry!!!!!!!! You cannot starve yourself!!!! You are depriving your baby of the nutrients it needs to grow and for you both to be healthy.. you stand to end up with a low birth weight baby, anaemia and possibly needing an assisted delivery if you don't have the strength or the energy to labour.. your body stops labouring if your blood sugars get too low!
You also will have vitamin or mineral deficiencies yourself.. if there isn't enough calcium in your diet for example the baby leeches it from your bones.
I am absolutely ravenous constantly.. and I have eaten in accordance with the hunger and have gained.. 4lb.. at 22 weeks.. If I don't eat, I get very low blood sugars and feel faint and dizzy and sick which isn't good for me or the baby!!
Eat woman!!!!!!!!!!!
Eating healthy stuff.. veggies, fruit, salads, sandwiches etc isn't a problem.. it is when you are living on piles and piles of chips and crisps and sweets you get fat.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
