I asked about my painkillers as my GP said to take 2 tablets 4 times a day. My MW said to only take them if i really feel i need to.
And now she has said im to take 2 at night, 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.

I dont know what to do, i dont like taking to much because of the baby :(
Which of them do you trust and how many do you feel like you need to take?

I trust my mw because she's trained in unborn baby care. The physio is only trained in care for my joints.
I've been ok taking them when i need them so far, but apparently i need to build them up in my system.
  • Glad you're still about Fairy :)Sorry that you're not feeling too great.

Well the BH haven't settled into anything too regular. Still going though at 5-10 minute intervals. So going to finish watching BFGW and then grab some sleep I think.

Assuming nothing happens, I have aquanatal tomorrow morning, so may not be able to post till after lunch. So you can take bets on me while I'm not on as to whether I'm still bumpy or not :D

    Night all x

Good luck Hngrymummy - sending loads of labour vibes your way x
  • Hiya Lady bumps

Sorry I've been quiet but got a bit tired earlier so went for a nap then had to go to my last antenatal class.....

have read back to everyone but of course can't remember half the stuff lol

Welcome back Fairy we have missed you xxx

EA sorry your physio was so carp.....where the pain killlers are concerned take them when you need them as the Dr really wouldn't give them to you if there were going to be any problems.....they will make sure you are off them 6 weeks before birth, this I know from experience as I have been taking pain killers throughout my pregnancy and of course now that I have the bad SPD I can't take the painkillers.......sods law lol

Ok I am brain dead tonight so labour vibes to those in need, sticky vibes to Hitchins :P ( no going too early girlie :P) and hugs to everyone else xxxxx

  • Really hungry tonight... Besides dinner and a packet of crisps, I have also eaten some cherry tomatoes and now eating a small bowl of chocolate cereal :rotfl:

Anyone else been craving junk? I had a MaccyD's today which tasted divine, and been craving ice cream for a couple of weeks now. Have been through various cravings which generally last a week or two, then change. Nothing bizarre like soap or sniffing petrol, but strawberry fizzy laces and chocolate and stuff  Not craved anything particularly healthy so far. Oh, orange juice was a craving at the beginning... That's OK but high sugar content
  • Just watching Monday's OBEM, and my female cat is seriously concerned about the woman wearing the pink pyjama's moans and groans as she inhales the G&A :rotfl: She woke up and kept looking at the TV (the bed is under the TV) and now has turned around, and is sitting up watching the TV.... It's hilarious!!! :rotfl:
  • I have just caught up and cannot remember what I was going to post lol. Is anybody else having face book issues, ie trying to post a comment and it not posting, or trying to like someones post and it not doing it.... it may just be me :undecided

Managed to get OH off to bed before Midnight so I am off to bed too, hoping to get 8 hours sleep (think this maybe optimistic but hohum).

((hugs)) to all who would like one :D

Oh and dont forget :j Pelvic floor:j

Thanks for the lovely welcomes ladies x
Hi there Claire Welcome to the thread and congrats....bummer on the morning sickness, I suffered with it a bit but not as bad as yourself or some of the ladies in the thread but all I could eat was the Colonel's best for a few weeks lol

    Woohooo to another islander lol.....

I'm the resident insomniac atm....there are a few others as well and we kind of pop on and off as the night goes on lol.....

Was your scan at +3 an official booking in scan???? Where you going to ???? I had a scan at 9+5 then my booking in at 12 +3

Hey Rockin, I'm attending Antrim Area and yes the scan last week was my dating scan and booking in appt together - not sure if thats how they do it everywhere as from reading online most peeps seem to have their BI appt with the MW a few weeks before the scan? I did have a meeing with the midwife at the GP practice a few weeks ago but it was just a 10 minute informal chat about nothing and she said they are no longer meant to be seeing peeps there until the 16 week appt*shrugs* Its all such a minefield to me! I take it you're at the RVH then? Hope you're pregnancy is going well, not long to go for you now:D

claire - I feel your misery on the MS All I can say is, take each day as it comes. Eat what you fancy when you fancy it. Carry a bucket around the house with you so you're not tied to the loo. Also, don't get your hopes up too much when people say "Oh, it'll go after 12/14/16/20 weeks" I think that was one of the worst things for me, as I kept expecting it to stop, and was always a bit down when it didn't stop. :( Mine did stop eventually. The tablets I had made soo much difference to me. I got my life back, even though I was still sick most days, it was nowhere near as bad as without them. Do feel free to come on here and vent about it. Everyone was so lovely when I did. Oh, and by the way, tie your hair back as much as possible. I got fed up with washing sick out of my hair :rotfl:(and off my shoes, and off my jeans, and off the sink and bath and breakfast plate.....)

Hi hngrymummy, sorry to hear you suffered badly too:( Re the bits in bold I am well versed in all those unfortunately. Though my hair is tied back mostly by neccessity because of how yuck it is- Its a really glam life when you have to get your OH to help you have a bath and wash your hair as you don't have the energy to do it yourself:o I miss being able to just get up and shower every day, I just feel like a right tramp these days although fingers crossed the tablets have reduced the sickness drastically so I now have little windows where I have an appetite so I just make sure to eat and drink then, and as I am starting to feel an increase in my energy levels its is definitely making a difference. I agree that taking each day at a time is the way to go, as you just never know how long it will last.

Claire - forgot to say, are you taking suppliments? Prgnancare is quite good, although the tablets look huuuuuuge. It may help make you feel better if you're getting some vitamins etc.

I was initially but they became too difficult to take so I switched to the folic acid ones as they are so tiny in comparison. I'll switch back over when I can as I'm going to have to rebuild my health so to speak. What I manage to eat is hardly nutritious so no wonder I feel as awful as I do.

And so my moaning continues:rotfl: I wan't to enjoy this experience but I just can't atm and feel so detached from it all. It was really reassuring to read some of you ladies talk about a lack of a bond as I guess its one less thing for me to worry about. My OH is bursting with enough excitement for the two of us though which is very sweet:D He's already looking at prams etc while I think its way too early and want to wait until after the 20 week scan. What does everyone else do?

    Nite all x
