I'm feeling really lonely at the moment, not having many people to talk to about the pregnancy yet untill i've had my scan. My mom is being a pain in the bum, wish i hadn't confided in her now about it.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all on here :)

It's an awful time up until you go public with your pregnancy - especially if you are feeling rotten too. Why is your mum being a pain? Looking forward to getting to know you too xx

Thank you :o I am due around the 23rd december-but it may change once i've had the dating scan. My periods weren't too regular after coming off the pill.

:o I've been through labour/birth once already-so kind of know what to expect, although i know each baby can be different. Still scary though!

I've been chatting on the less then 12 week board-was excited though and decided to join this thread too :D

I know... exciting to be on the list isn't it! there's lots here who are also on their 2nd (or even 10th? Pigpen) so lots of people to chat to. I'm on my first so on a very steep learning curve. Hoping you get your scan soon and everything goes well x

She decided to tell me not to get my hopes up as it's 'early days' :( as if i need reminding about that kind of thing. Then went on to tell me i'm not the same this pregnancy as last time, i'm not relaxed or calm....i have a 2 1/2 year old to chase after so god knows how i'm supposed to put my feet up and relax like last time! Last time i didn't tell her till after the scan and didn't see much of her, so not sure why she feels she can tell me how i am supposed to be at this stage. When i tell her i'm not feeling too good in the morning-she seems confused and asks why? duh! I'm pregnant....feeling a bit sick?! I think she's on a different planet some days!

But anyway, thank god that I have a very supportive husband and sister who look on the positive side and help me when they can :o It'll be easier once i can tell my friends.

Sorry to start by moaning, got that off my chest now lol.

Keelykat, some people just don't think before they open their mouths. Take it with a pinch of salt, she probably has no idea she is coming across the way she is. My Nanna has the same problem and can't help but offend when she opens her mouth :rotfl: Pregnancy 2nd time round is harder as you already have a child to look after. The way I used to cope was to have a nap with them when they had their nap. If they didn't have a nap, I would encourage them to nap with me. I used to put Cbeebies on and lay on the sofa, get them to come and cuddle up with me, and sure enough before long we'd both be asleep. Lots of early nights too.

Well, I must have had the worst night's sleep I've ever had in my life :(:(:(

I just couldn't get comfy, I felt like every time I breathed my pelvic ligaments were tearing. Turning over was the hardest it's been. I therefore am lucky if I managed 2hrs sleep in total all night. I am sooooo fed up. I think I upset DH too. He seemed keen on some 'activity' last night and I snapped at him and told him not to be so selfish. Felt really bad afterwards. I could have just said I'd love to but can't manage it :o

Parents have now left the country so I feel really vulnerable in case anything happens whilst they're away. They are my only childcare in case I end up having to go in hospital for any reason. I'll be wishing the next 12 days away very quickly :(

I hate my parents being away too mrsS - they go away on the 28th for 2 weeks. It's like having a comfort blanket knowing they are close by but when they're not - eek!! They are my emergency child care too. Sorry you had such a crap night's sleep - I'm so grumpy when I've not slept very well. Gets us used to the sleepless nights I guess!

It is a comfort blanket - especially when we have been totally cut off by DHs family - it's not even like I have in-laws to rely on in the meantime. Just had a lovely bath and put some PJs on .... I am not budging off the sofa today. FACT! :rotfl:

Maternity bricks, lol thats brilliant. I hate to rub it in because I know alot of you girls have had a horrid time , but has anyone else been the exact opposite? I was commenting to my midwife this morning that I feel really well and healthy and she said that happens to some people.I honestly havent felt better, lol Wonder if I will go back to a grumpy ,sour faced hypocondriac as soon as bubs is out ?

My pregnancy has been pretty good I think, much easier than my two close friends who are new mums. They joke I'm going to have 10 lol. When others are suffering though you don't want to reply- I'm alright- as you feel insensitive. Its good to be positive tho, particularly for those new to the thread, pregnancy isn't always horrible. ;)
I had nausea in the first trimester but never actually vomited- just had to eat frequently- my friends were both vomiting most of the way through. Get acid though but thats manageable- meet fluffysox the milk guzzler! :rotfl:
I usually suffer from hayfever- so far no symptoms whatsoever this year:T.
No major aches or pains, just lots of braxton hicks now which are OK, although they can keep me awake now as they're getting more uncomfortable and more frequent at night. Had mild back ache but with pillows a plenty at night I'm fine. Fractured my wrist 3 weeks ago which has been a pain particularly getting out of bed at night but at least has made me take it easy instead of fussing with housework etc. ;)
Emotionally I've been great (OH says less moody than normal) and most stress which has had my work colleagues frantic has passed me over completely. However if I get too tired I end up tearful- although I don't feel sad. Early nights while I was at work and an afternoon nap now I'm finished and I'm OK. Only thing that caused me to lose it was redundancy threat- told in my last week and that whole process knocked me completely. I still can't believe that after working so hard right up to the end to get my all my classes ready for exams and after such a happy, calm pregnancy they caused me to fall apart in my last week. Actually burst into tears while teaching my sixth form and had to be sent home. Its all over now thank goodness and we should hear by the end of the week whether OH is being kept on in his job (end of 6 month contract). Would have been a major worry if my job wasn't safe for now but at least we know that we'll be OK.:).

Can't remember who was asking about individual rooms. A couple of women at work recommended to me to ask about this- they said it didn't cost them much and escaping other people's babies waking you and yours up is well worth it. However my mum says you don't mind the shared ward as other women are going through the same as you- I wasn't convinced by this. Then on the tour of our newly modernised maternity unit at local hospital I found out everyone has their own on-suite room now anyway. Woo-hoo! :j:j:j:j.
