Do you do exercises for your SPD hun? And see the physio regularly? I always feel worse in the mornings after being in bed. It's agony. Saw the physio yesterday - a different one to last two times - and feel a bit better.
Physio saw me and sent me on my way with the belt and crutches - there was never any mention of seeing her for ongoing treatment. I didn't get any last time either - although last time they did at least measure how far I could part my legs to ensure labour would be possible. Perhaps because I managed labour last time, they are assuming I will againShe gave me a leaflet with some exercises in, one of which is just pelvic floor. It's just the standard leaflet you normally get on the postnatal ward, so not very helpful
I'm always worse first thing on a morning too. I feel completely fed up today. Isn't it amazing how being in pain can make you feel utterly rubbish in general. I feel washed out and very low in my mood. I have no motivation for anything today.
8 weeks until I can get into full eviction mode .... LOL
re RLT, I've never tried it. I'm not sure my uterus could tone itself up now having been through birth 3 times already LOL. My stomach muscles certainly don't tone up :rotfl:Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

LOL, you two are not meant to be tempting me further with the iPhone :rotfl: I have until June until my contract is up, can upgrade with Orange before then, but won't make a decision yet. Hopefully once I've had the boy we can go into town and try some phones out. No way I could walk around town at the moment.
MrsS - has the physio ever done any corrective work on your spine or pelvis? Each time I have been I've needed something done, and yesterday it was absolute agony when she was putting it back, but felt better after. The main problem with me is I am naturally slim and tall, so with a heavy baby bump it is pulling me all over the place, so I keep doing mischief to myself. Along with the relaxin making it possible.
I've been doing strengthening exercises like pulling my tummy muscles in and holding them, arching my back and another where I hold one leg and try and put it down to ground while resisting against it, apparently to reset my pelvis.
I have never been offered crutches or a belt, but I have my placenta at the front - it's completely gone out of my head the correct word lol.
My mum is coming over for the weekend, so will give me a chance to get off the computer for a bit :rotfl:0 -

Nope, never had any corrective work done
About 2 years after having my last baby, I suffered a flare up and ended up getting stuck in the arm chair. I literally couldn't move. I went back to GP and got a physio referral as I thought there was maybe something they could do. The physio I saw then was rubbish. They said it was mechanical back pain (i.e. nothing to do with my symphysis pubis joint). I knew from the symptoms that it was more than 'just' back pain - let's face it, once you've had SPD, you know what it is. I went a couple of times but they did something to my back which made it worse, so I stopped going.
To be honest, I've suffered with back pain ever since having DD 11 years ago. I blame the epidural(although I'll never be able to prove it). My back regularly goes into spasm whilst ironing and stuff. I have quite a pronounced curve to my lower back under normal circumstances, so pregnancy makes that worse, but back pain in pregnancy is to be expected. My mum and brother have scoliosis of the spine, but mine is straight, so it's not like that's an issue either.
I can't even lift one leg up off the floor at the moment whilst I'm standing still. I can't put weight on my left leg without sharp pain, almost like sciatica as well. If my legs are slightly apart whilst laying flat, I can't move them back together again. Last night I got stuck climbing out of the bath for the first time. I'm just a messOlympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Yes a think a little bit of dust went in my eye too. Well done Kitty!"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0
