ohhh some websites make me laugh......

    when packing a hospital bag.....
    Your Choice

This birthing bag is for you so that you can enjoy your stay in the hospital or birthing center. Consider what items you would take with you if you were going to a day spa - somewhere that you could relax and nurture yourself. Certainly these days won't necessarily be relaxing - but they are a time for you to enjoy your new baby and to take care of yourself. Bringing the right robe, music, food, reading materials and other items can make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

i do like this for a checklist tho if anyone wants an alternative to the one on the birth list. must admit tho... a razor is not top of my list of things to pack.

Argh! OH's dad just rang and said OH's cousin has been in labour last 2 days and has gone into hospital now to have her baby. She wasn't due till next week! I'm 4 days overdue, my baby was supposed to come first! I totally have labour jealousy!

All joking aside, I hope things go well for her and I'm looking forward to meeting her baby.

Where's my baby?! He or she is fully cooked now, I want to meet them!

I'm gonna be exactly the same - especially when so many people are due around the same time as me on here - hope none of you dare go before me :p Hope things happen soon honey - safe delivery!! x

    Congrats Dusty!!!! Gorgeous babe! xxx

Hope everything's going well for PC... :)

Hi, I've been meaning to join this thread for ages, but keep getting side tracked... Could someone add me to the list please? My EDD is 9th June and we are having a little boy :D
I've been pretty well up til now, but have been signed off work for the last few weeks with headaches. I only have 2 weeks left at work and then will be finishing for good as I've handed my notice in. It looks like I'll be having another week off sick and then will be back at work for my final week.
Hope all you ladies are doing ok?

Congrats and welcome! Hope the headaches clear off soon :D

Hi ladies, was just wondering when you were thinking of starting/or had started your maternity leave. I currently work full time in an office based job but was planning to finish work 4 weeks before my due date. It's my first baby so am not sure how I will be feeling at this stage, but don't want to take more time off before the birth than I need as obviously this is less time off with the baby once he has arrived. I'm really struggling to decide but my work are keen to know a date as soon as possible.

Hi Mmox - I was planning to work up to 2 weeks before my due date. It's a bit different for me as I work from home and therefore don't have to do the commute into work so I thought i'd be able to last a bit longer. Boy was I wrong! I've never felt so exhausted these last 3 weeks and i've been forced onto early maternity leave at 34 weeks.

Not sure if that helps any but I spend my days napping at the moment and can't imagine doing anything else!

with DS1 i worked an office job and managed absolutly fine until 36weeks - I took 1 days Annual laeave a week from 30 weeks then I took 4 weeks annual leave before starting mat leave.

with DS2 I was planning on doing the same, unfortunalty was signed off sick 4 weeks ago.... mainly due to OC which stopped me sleeping, not sure if I'd have managed until 36 if I'd not been ill since 6 weeks pg or not.

ohhhh the thought would be lovelyyy..... make the most of it... 2nd baby when you have sole responsibility of a toddler 3 days a week means sleep is a thing of the past. must admit am feeling not too sleepy at all now I can get 6+ hours at night.
