    Morning :)

Welcome Kaylzbob! Not too long to go!!

Hope you start to feel better soon RBG but here's hoping it is a sign of things starting! Can't beleive how close you are now!!

Am having my first cup of RLT, one of many!! I don't think I will continue with the tea although it is ok as I knew I got fed up drinking it towards the end with my last pregnancy, so will use the tea bags and probably by the tablets after that I think.

Hope everyone has a nice day, it looks like it might be a nice day here again, here's hoping!!

  • Hi pixie , we have booked a holiday to the North of Scotland when bubs will be 5/6 months ,although we arent flying I was very worried about how we would cope but after speaking to alot of friends and family they have said its easier to take a baby than say a 2 year old. So im just hoping they are right. Weve got a long car journey so will have to stop a fair few times , we are going up into the mountains so have made sure accomadation has central heating as well as fire, they are also kindly loaning us a cot and high chair and a free pass to the swimming pool for baby.So really excited but scared at the same time , lol. I went to spain in October for a quick break (easy jet ) and there was a baby on my flight , it dealt with taking off and landing better than most of the adults and spent most of the time sleeping, was very impressed.
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

    Morning fellow bumpies.

Ive had a rubbish night and morning with DS being a little poo.

Pixie, ive never been on a plane with my wee ones but my friends all have and they got on great, Especially with the babies as they tended to sleep most of the time. Air hostesses have allways been great for help with finding a private seat where poss for feeding etc. I think if I was going to do it id take a sling with me for ease of carrying and feeding and a lightweight buggy in the hold for sleeping etc.

    Morning everyone and welcome kaylzbob.

Labour vibes to those above me and to me to ;)

Nothing to report here, kids are back to school today, except 1 who gets the day off as its tutor review day. 1st official day of maternity leave too :)

Anyone heard anything of Hitchins, she's not been on for a couple of days?

  • jojo my first official day of mat leave too.

Group B strep...I am a bit the wiser, you can get a vaginal swab on the NHS, but that doesn't tell the whole story...you need to do a urethral and anal swab to rule out the risk completely, that test is done online for about £36.

If present, you have to take mega doses of antibiotics. Hope this helps someone.

Welcome Kaylzbob :) (a nd all the rest of the newbies :))you do have fellow insomniacs at times...I used to be a regular one but (except for tonight) my sleeping seems to have sorted itself out although at 39+3 () I have just slept the whole of today away lol....hope your sleep returns to you soon and yes btw you added yourself in right :)

I haven't read back yet ladies and bumps but will do so....been feeling manky since yesterday and had flu type symptoms....of course googled them and the majority mean I am going to be seeing D day soon enough hehe...have got to the point now where I just don't want to be PG anymore but then that means I will have the alien in my arms and I think that is even scarier hehe

Labour vibes to those in need and big hugs all round

    RBG

    xxxx

Re the flu like symptoms - they certainly may mean that you are going to meet alien soon. I had flu like symptoms for two days before I went into labour with DS. My advice is get loads of sleep now if you can so that you are well and truly rested for the birth. keeping fingers crossed for you honey x xx :j
  • Was having a worrying day yesterday. I know that OH and I are going to be good parents and we have a great relationship and we are so excited about baby , but im worried about SIL's child ,dad isnt around anymore and because SIL works alot we treat child alot. Nothing fancy , days at the zoo , pizza making classes at our house. Just silly stuff that SIL doesnt have money/time for ,just worried that once baby comes child will start to wonder why he doesnt have a daddy and also we wont be able to do as much as we will have a newborn and our family time will be precious.Im sure my hormones arent helping the situation , lol Ive washed and worn my boyfriend style maternity jeans from Matalan and I must say Im very impressed , the bump bit is still massive and I need to fold it down but they were a bargain at £16

  • Hugs, lablover I'm sure you can include neice/nephew sometimes. Hopefully what happened to me will happen to SIL, which is met someone way better who provides an excellent father figure. Its horrible not having a Daddy for your child.

Thanks grateful , I just would hate child to feel left out.I do hope she ends up finding someone else or dad gets back on the scene , child is a right cracker and really well behaved. We have had a few issues with child calling my OH dad by accident , but I think its purely down to their age and getting over excited.
